I recently read on this website that Disney had raised their prices for passes but the you could still get them cheaper if you bought them at the Disney Store or is you purchased them on line. I wasn't to upset about the price increase. What did make me VERY angry was when I went to the Disney store today and they told me the price had increased but they had also done away with the Disney CLub discount on 4 & 5 day park hopper passes. The olny passes you can get that discount on is a 6 pass or an annual pass. The other reason I am sooo angry is that I called the Disney Club right before I left the house and asked what the price for a 5 day pass was w/ the discount...no one mentioned that there was no longer a discount. How many more thing are they going to take away??? The major reason I joined was for the room discounts and the pass discounts.

PS I got a cheaper rate with the CKO code!!! :(

We feel your pain, Dennisnlisab96. Please send a letter or e-mail to Disney voicing your displeasure with the new changes. Maybe if enough folks complain, the Disney Club will listen. It's worth a shot.

We ended our Disney Club membership last year. For the past couple of years I've found cheaper rates via codes or annual pass rates. When Magic Kingdom Club switched over to Disney club a lot of the perks were gone including discounts on collectibles in the store. When it was switched to Disney Club many of the discount offers were over by the time we got their flyers in the mail. The only thing I really enjoyed was the magazine and even at that is was always late. I've found better deals researching myself. Store discounts are lousy (for me anyways) since all the Disney Stores primarily have children's toys and clothes. It used to be a good value in the early 90s but in my opinion it isn't worth it anymore.

There is still a Disney Club discount on the 5 Day PHP ticket. Perhaps that is the pass for which the CM quoted you a price. Not all the Disney Stores sell all of the different passes that are available. I thought that ours sold the 5 Day PHP, but maybe not all do.

Please make your voice heard. Disney only makes changes if they hear from ALOT of people all at once. Look how long it took them to realize ther error of their ways with Character Caravan, and bring back EE. Drop everything and write NOW!!!!

dennisnlisab96, as a former CM with TDS I can say that they only listen if people complain. They won't listen to the CM's who hear the complaints. So send in your emails and call them, 'cause that 's the only way they will change things.

If not for the 5% discount on annual passes, I would no longer belong to DC.

We buy 3 AP's every year. The discount on the AP's pays for the DC membership. When they take that away that's when I quit the DC.

If you think they made changes based on emails I thinjk you are mistaken. They made due to the almighty dollar not flowing in to the coffers.

So..... in your email, or you letter, let 'em know you aren'

This was my personal reaction to the change. We have a trip planned for November. We were planning on picking up some 4 day PH tickets. Since I was told that I would get a discount on these tickets when I joined, and am being told in the middle of my membership year that this policy has been changed, I called and requested a refund on the remainder of my membership year based on failure to fulfill the original terms of our agreement. We belong to DVC, so I honestly only join DC for the discount on ticket prices. None of the other discounts are better than the ones I already get (for free), through other sources. I know that one person demanding a refund won't make a dent in their profit margin, but if the numbers of people joining the Club declines, it'll make a difference in the long run.

I likened this changing of policy and discounts midstream to AAA suddenly telling me that they won't tow my car in FL halfway through a membership year. I wouldn't stand for that, and I won't stand for this. IMO, they seem to be forgetting that we PAID for the discounts we were being offered. They weren't giving them out of the goodness in their hearts. Kind of smacks of bait and switch to me...

**UPDATE**

FYI:
I just got a call back from a supervisor. She asked me if we had booked our room for our November trip using a DC code. I told her "no". She stated that they will send a postage paid envelope to me, and that as soon as I send back my card, they will send me a refund check for my FULL membership fee.

I will be calling them myself as sson as i am done writing this. I will also be asking for my full membership refund.

I just renewed my membership and it took them over a week to allow me to log in. Somehow my member ID was screwed up on their end. I was pretty upset about that and now that I find out that I can't get discounts on the tickets - there is no reason to be a member.

Add me to the list of those calling for a refund.

I hate to say this but we just got back 4 days ago and we were so dissapointed that I sat down on our last night and wrote a 4 page letter from the bottom of my heart and gave it to our hotel that said they will get it to their headquarters.. The MK closed every night at 6 pm except one evening. No early entry No E-Nights No nightly Parades. But worst was the attitudes. I was told so many times by castmembers to Please write and complain that the cutbacks are hurting the workers. That they can't complain in fear of losing their jobs. Even several Monorail and park CM's said this to us. This was our 8th trip to WDW in 6 years and we have never waited so long for buses before. It was also very hot which made me ask several times why alot of the attractions were warm inside or why the shoppes were muggy inside. Not all shoppes or attractions were warm just noticed that alot were and when we asked why again we were told by castmembers that it's due to the new accountants cutbacks. I do realize that this is Slow Season but I couldn't believe how many rides/attractions/and parades were closed. I was told by a CM on the day we left that they just got word that things are going to change around WDW for the better and fast so that's Great news. I couldn't believe how many resorts were either partially closed down or totally closed. There was alot of painting and scaffling all around but I understand that they need to work on the slower times. The Great news is, POFQ was just wonderful to everyone and I felt was clean and a very friendly place to stay. In a matter of fact it was our Housekeeper that made our whole trip. She/He made us several towel animals everyday which I have never gotten in the last 7 trips and that included the Deluxe resorts. If things change around WDW I would go back to the POFQ in a heartbeat. I'm sorry If I offended anyone here but like I said We knew it was slow time but I paid alot for our trip and felt like it was lacking quit a bit of Magic. I never saw so many cigerette butts in the park ashtrays and scattered around the areas in my other trips. I don't know if I will ever get a response from WDW but I had to let them know how we felt. I just want to let you know that we would be the last to complain because we Love and Adore WDW and are one of their biggest fans But I just wanted to let you know that changes are said to be in the works. I just hope they do just that and fast.

We were in WDW for 7 nights in January and May this year. Just in that short time span DH and I both commented on noticeable cut backs. :( Our January vacation was much more fun, although we still had a great time in May.
The same week in May we have done So CA and WDW, in '01 & '02. I would do the So CA May vacation, but I wouldn't likely bother with WDW in May, unless the flying and hotel rates were very good.
The weather, crowds and variety was much more enjoyable in So CA.

We are set for a short October trip. :bounce:
And have our room ressies for January. :bounce:
But these are the only WDW vacations I have in the works.
After the January trip I PLAN to take a wait and see attitude, even though we will have WDW AP's. Unless we get GREAT airline rates, like we did for October.
I think it will be interesting to see what more is cut and what is brought back. After what sounds like Disney wiping out the Imagineering R&D department, I say anything is fair game now.

I unfortunately had to cancel my trip in January...and after hearing all of the stories of the cut backs I'm glad I decided to cancel. It's a shame....but it will only change if people complain. I'd complain, but the last time I was down there I was a CM so they won't listen to me. I can't stand companies that won't listen to the people who actually know what's going on. :( Let's hope enough people complain so that things will change.

Did I miss something????????

This was about the DC on passes, wasn't it? Now it's about cutbacks at the parks? If you read enough here, for every post about cutbacks, there are at least two the rebuke it.

The whiners won and Disney reinstated many of the things that were cutback, good business decision or not. Time will tell how it works but if it's that bad and you aren't satified, stay home. Shorter lines for me.

If someone reports what they have seen or heard I don't consider them being a whinner. I respect all opinions whether good or bad. Are there people who are dissapointed with the recent cutbacks Of Course. Are we hoping things get better and pick up at WDW, Absolutely! As far as us whinners staying home so you have shorter lines, come on! That is so childish. No ones perfect and that includes WDW. Did I ask a dozen CM's to ask us to complain for them? NO..Did it make my vacation special, NO. Will complaining help? Don't know, But how can anything get fixed if no one say's it's broke?

Chatty,

See this,

it's the dead horse being beaten. Disney has resotred EE, seems to be extending hours adding MNSSHP. It seems like thay are making all the right moves. I know some people will complain regardless. But that's life.
