Lilly belle, I love you dearly, but right now I want to brain you.

DH and I scraped together our pennies for a long time so we could buy a (desperately needed) new coffee table. We found the perfect one. It looks magnificent in our livingroom...or rather it LOOKED. We've had it for less than a mont, And our dog decided to do a swan-dive off the couch and onto the table in a mad rush to get to the back door for potty-time...

And she gouged the ever lovin' crap out of the table top.

I could just cry (and I think DH did). These aren't surface scratched...these are GOUGES into the wood. One was deep enough to go through the stain/varnish to the wood.

:headache::sad1::mad:

Oh I know the feeling well! The time one of our dogs ate the siding off the back of our house comes to mind. You know the place...out on the deck where we all gather with family and friends for BBQ, beer etc. And for desert she ate the door that leads from said deck to the kitchen.

We have similar gouges in our hard wood floors from the same kind of swan dives you mentioned. Ya just gotta love 'em... :lovestruc

Yes - got to love them - our old dog from my teenage years, Jake - had quite the antics that were SOOOO maddening at the time, but man we laugh about them now (and miss him like crazy) .... things like eating a chunk out of the dashboard in the car while we were inside for about 10 minutes, chewing up a library book called "No Bad Dogs" during this same wait in the car(the library didn't even make me pay for it, they were laughing too hard), eating my homework that my co-op teacher had signed to hand it - had to do it all over again, stretching up to the BACK of the kitchen counter and eating three quarters of a lasagna that my mom had left out for me to put in the oven after school, eating half of a couch cushion and playing with the foam in the living room in the early hours of the morning to the point of looking like it had snowed in there!, eating shoes, pants, chair and table legs, etc ... man he did so many silly and destructive things but that dog was SO loved!!! He was so human it wasn't funny ... a big black bouvier / lab mix ... big love bug!!!

Thank goodness they are cute and we love them so much or they'd be dead!!:laughing:

Find someone to fix it. A good woodworker could make a huge improvement in it. A little sanding, a little stain and a new finish. Good luck.
