I need to rent out points and have questions...

I am a BCV owner and need to rent out points to pay for a cruise. Am I better off getting a reservation in early December and renting that out since so many members want the low point time, or getting a Thanksgiving reservation and renting to the masses who haven't planned ahead? I am hoping for $12 per point so the reservation might help versus just points.

Post what you have available on the rent trade board. Make sure you post that you are a BCV owner and you can take advantage of the 11 month window. Also if you want $12 a point, stick to it, you will get it especially since BCV is a highly demanded property. I posted some point and had them rented by day end.......be ready for an onslaught of PMs. Good Luck

We could go on and on with this renting thing. No flames here by the way. I wouldn't suggest booking a certain date and then renting the entire reservation. Just rent the points out. Your $12 price is still low, but it is getting better. If you choose the dates and book a room it limits the available people to rent. Often times I'll book a trip based on when I can get the best airfare. You'd be surprised what a difference it makes sometimes to leave a day earlier/later sometimes. My point is, if you already booked such and such dates I may pass because the airfare is hundreds more for that given date. Let someone choose the dates, book it for them and go from there. $15 is where I think the renter still saves and the DVC owner isn't getting soaked. Good luck with this and depending on when you list them on the rent/trade board I might be interested. Don't worry I'll pay you the $15 I mentioned regardless of what you list at. I'll look for you over on the rent/trade.
