I need to know I'm not crazy - or am I just hooked?

Returned from our 1st WDW visit on Nov 1. Me, DH and DD. Spent the majority of our time in MK and an afternoon in Epcot. Had an absolute blast. This from the woman who had given a friend grief for 15 years over their obession with WDW.
Suddenly I'm thinking it would be wonderful idea for a solo bday visit in Feb 09. Does this make me crazy or hooked?

Already priced out with travel agent - Poly 2/1 - 2/7 with Bday on 2/3. - on Deluxe Dining

So tell me what can a solo woman do for 5 days in Disney - besides sleep late? My ideas:
Watch fireworks from Poly beach (on days when they do MK)
MK- tour - AM 2 hrs - the history of Walt and WDS (can't remember name)
MK poke around all the things I didnt get to do with an 8 year old around
- shops on Main street
- take pics of the atmosphere that I missed while taking pics of us in Oct
- poke around the Agrabah market in Adventure land
- Do Pooh's ride (not much on rolller costers and tea cups and NO Small World!)
- see Castle show up close
- explore mosaic in castle
- have my face painted at least twice
- see what Tom Sawyer island is like
- poke around whatever strikes my fancy -take in the atmosphere
- stay for the evening events (after 4 PM) - eat dinner in park
Epcot
- spend day in Worldshow case - wander around - eat late lunch /early dinner in Morrocco
- catch World Showcase Players in UK and Italy (saw in UK - so funny!l)
- decide what looks intereting in the rest of the park & check out lines
HS
- Muppets
- the ride through movie history (can't remember name)
- ????
- Dining options??
AK - doesn't really interest me.

Dinner - do one signature dining - probably Citrico's in GF. Try The Wave in the Contemporary.

No, you are not crazy at all! LOL
I highly recommend you at least visit Animal Kingdom once though, if you have never been there. Expedition Everest is an awesome roller coaster, Dinosaur is one of my favorite rides, the Nemo show in my opinion is Broadway quality,and I love shopping in the little carts and shops they have. Not to mention the safari is really a good time, even if you don't really like animals... (like me) lol

There is so much to do as a solo, watch for single rider lines at Test Track in Epcot, at Rockin Roller Coaster at DHS, and Expedition Everest in AK. I have never waited longer than 15 minutes in a single rider line.

Most of all, just have fun and cater to yourself, and what you want. I now have my adult trips where I meet DIS friends at the world, and my trips with my daughter. Different vacations every time!!


Seriously, even if you think the idea of AK is lame, you don't like animals, or you just don't think anything at AK will be fun, go and try it once. It is Disney 100% and a seriously great park. You would be missing out on great attractions and shows if you didn't go.

OMG you need to see AK at least once. I love the safari and the Lion King Show. I enjoy going solo and as Tracy stated there are so many other Disfriends from the Boards there that we normally meet at least once or twice (especially at JellyRolls).

KJS is my all time favorite attraction. So I'm a bit biased in favor of visiting AK anytime someone plans to visit WDW. I've explored various actual countries around the globe including many in Africa and Asia. AK is a return to those adventures. I enjoyed a month-long camping safari in Tanzania during 1980 and KJS helps me to relive the experience. KJS is so much like a return to the Serengeti, except without those vicious little blood sucking tsetse flies.

LOL! I'm in the same boat. While I went to WDW MANY times as a child/teen we took out first family trip in Sept. Since returning all I wanted to do was get back to the World! So, I started planning a girls trip for my bday (2/1)! My Mom & BF are coming with me.

Maybe us birthday girls will bump into each other. I'll have my LGMH on my bag!

There are things to do at AK and you do not have to stay all day. Don't forget Downtown Disney we spend at least one whole day there (emphasis on the word spend)

Hello ladies...my birthday isen't until May. But because of other obligations I was thinking about maybe taking my first solo trip down in the beginning of Feb. Now all I have to do is talk DH into thinking it's a good idea, he doesn't really get why someone would want to go there alone. But I think it would be fun for everyone to meet one day...even if it's just for lunch or something.

No you're not crazy but you're not that rare either.

I was raised on Disney, the TV show every Sunday with my family, all the records (yes, I was pre-video), and went to Disneyland when I was in Junior High, but that was it.

Last Christmas, out of the blue, my wife's parents announced that they were taking us all to WDW for a week. I was less than thrilled, and at one point almost stayed home. But it was a very generous gift so I went anyway to avoid hurting anyone's feelings.

Once we got there I was amazed! The size and quality of everything bowled me over from the moment we got off the plane. I've been wanting to go back ever since we got home in April. We are booked for next Christmas, but I'm not so sure I'll make it!

hubby and I went twice with the boys, and 12 times, just the 2 of us, since. (they are grown.) If either of us could not be there, I am SURE the other would have a GREAT time!! although I would miss hubby, I know he would nhave a great time without me!!! (don't tell him I said that!)
oh my god!! I could spend hours and hours , (as could he) sprawling around the parks. really consider a SEGWAY TOUR! the AROUND THE WORLD segway tour.you get to hear about dif. things in the dif countires, and get to tool around world showcase before it opens to the general public.
the Keys to the kingdom tour. same thing, you are NOTon your own ;with a group. you get to see the parade floats, go down below and se the utilidoors and meet a bunch of "new best friends".
when hubby and I spend "down time" at the resort pools, you wouldn't even KNOW we were with each other!. a good book, or even the Orlando Sentinel. can take hours
rent a little sea racer at contemporary resort, zip around the seven seas lagoon.
see the FANTSTIC NEmo musical at AK park. have fun!!!! (um, can I join you?

sorry, Tom sawyer is boring. do a bit of epcot shopping, but don't expect too much. (unless you like shopping . the shops are great, if you are on your own. DO (dining) japan (teppan edo) or germany cause you will be seated with others... more fun!!! I highly reccomend the AROUND THE WORLD segway tour.

do NOT miss Illuminations. msince you won't have little ones, try to be on the bridge by mexico (get a rainbow margarita first) or be by the gateway between england and france. (the international gateway) then, walk over to the boardwalk. either to Karaolkee at the swan resort, or have fun at the piano bar at Jelly rolls at the boardwalk!!!. take a taxi back to your resort!
