I need to help a lady with her ADR's

I met this lady that works with my sister. She is going the week of Christmas and has NOTHING scheduled!

Wow! Wish I had met her sooner but I told her I would try to help her out. Any idea on where might have an opening Christmas day or Eve?

There are 3 kids going girl15, boy13 girl7. Not that we will be able to find anything to gear towards them.

Think the whole week is shot?

It is a tough week for reservations, but I would attempt to get something in place for her soon. I also think if you are a bit flexible on time, you can find reservations, just not at prime dining time.

First, you have to find out if there is a budget, and go from there. One year we had Christmas dinner at Artist Point and it was lovely. Another time we had Christmas dinner at Grand Floridian cafe and they were serving traditional turket and it was great..

You will have to find out what they want to spend and go from there, but I would keep in mind that she may have to eat at off times..

I'm going the week of Thanksgiving, not Christmas, but that's been a tough week to find openings as well, so perhaps my experience will help you......I found that the restaurants in the resorts had much more availablity than the ones in the parks. Obviously, I'm not talking about the much discussed and very popular places like Ohana, Kona, Chef Mickey, etc....but these are the places that I found with availablity to the point that I was asking "do you have anytime on Tuesday here" and was getting "well what time do you want" and then when I'd say "something between 5 and 7pm would be great" they'd start listing at 10 minute intervals!

Cape May Cafe at Beach Club (it has a character breakfast with Goofy in the mornings.....I was amazed that there was a character breakfast anywhere available!). The dinner is a clam bake.

Garden Grove at Swan....they have a character breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays with Chip & Dale. Again, I was pretty surprised to find a character breakfast available.

Boatwrights at Port Orleans

Grand Floridian Cafe (they didn't have breakfast the day I wanted, but we got a lunch ressie at 11am)



There are also a lot of really good CS meals available......I'm finding that not every night has to be a TS. I originally thought most of the CS were burgers and chicken fingers, but that's not true, especially in Epcot of course. At AK, Flame Tree has such great reviews that we're doing it for dinner.

Good luck to your friend! She's lucky to have you, can you imagine showing up on the busiest week of the year and having no meal plans. Even if she can't get into the popular places, at least she won't spend most of the day foraging for dinner plans with your help!

Just call and ask what they have available - book whatever they have! It's better than not having anything.

I don't think every single place is sold out for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Your best bet would be to find out if there is anywhere they absolutely cannot eat (like if they don't like interactive things, Chinese, Italian, etc.). Then find out if there is any time they absolutely cannot eat (kids can't wait until 9:00, etc.). If they are pretty flexible, you should be able to find something. Try for late lunches instead of a traditional evening meal. They might like that even better, especially on Christmas Eve so they can enjoy the evening without wasting time in a restaurant.

It still is relatively early. Dis-ers know to call 180 days out but the vast majority of people don't know that.
