I just want to be able to live life, and not worry about money. Is that too much to ask for? :confused3

I don't know what your circumstances are. Be careful what you wish for.

There are so many experts out there that can help with decreasing your debt and saving money. Try that path.

I know how you feel. I just want to be able to pay everything without having to worry about if I have enough to cover other bills! I'd also like to have some left over so I don't have to scrimp and save everything to go to WDW!

My best friend always says "I've done the poor thing, now I want to try the rich thing."

I admit, I grew up poor and being financially secure is better. I'm not rich by any means, but hard work and smart decisions have made things easier on me and DH. I watch reruns of Roseanne before they won the lottery (which seemed to ruin their lives, by the way) and I wonder how they managed to stay so darn happy and upbeat. We've had hard times, too and I seemed to get through them, so we do what we have to do - enjoy the easier times and make it through the more difficult ones (and try to learn from them).

Good luck with the lottery! Alternatively, good luck with another plan that could help your situation. MassMillions in MA is up to 225 million.....that could definitely make Sallie Mae (my student loans) go away forever. :teeth:

When you find the secret, please let me know. I would love to put money worries behind me. Maybe I will have to buy a ticket for Mega Millions!

Me too and I agree wholeheartedly! I don't ever want to go back!

If you're interested in some help/ideas, come by the Budget Board. There are lots of great resources there!

Not that I'm speaking from experience but, money doesn't always equal happiness. Feeling less stressed about finances? Of course. Happy? No.

Personally I'd like to have the chance to come to that conclusion on my own. ;)

I don't need millions to be happy just a couple thousand to go to WDW next year... is that to much to ask for..... :rotfl:

I'm not asking for mega money.. just enough to live life comfortably. Especially with the recent hurricane, it's taking out of me left and right!

I just got done reading the Dave Ramsey book Total Money Makeover. I really liked it. I know it's helped a lot of people which is why I read it. Maybe it would be something you're interested in reading?

I know some terminally ill people who will be the first to tell you that no, money doens't buy happiness.

Oh, I'm sorry you suffered with the hurricane. That is hard.

I know what you mean though. I don't even want to be Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey rich. Just enough to pay off my credit cards, buy a new and desperately needed car, pay off our mortgage, and have some left over for a really nice vacation. That's it.

It kills me when I watch those shows on the Vegas high rollers who bet and lose, $25,000 in one hand!!!! I know it's their hard-earned money and they can burn it if they chose to but I just keep thinking "Toss one of those chips my way. Your gonna lose it anyways!!!!" ;)

Very, very good point! If you don't have your health all the money in the world won't matter.
If I could have one wish come true it would be that me and my family are always happy and healthy, not for money.

I have struggled financially since I was in college. Once my dh and I got married it has only gotten worse. We made a what we thought was our biggest financial mistake 3 years ago when we bought our house. It was a forclosure and we knew it needed cosmetic help. Well, the real estate agent did not forclosure all the structural problems and we got stuck with a house that has a crumbling foundation, (it had) an active termite infestation, problems with the septic system and it needed a new roof.

Well, we have fixed everything but the crumbling foundation and some cosmetic things. We just found out last week from 2 different real estate agent appraisals that once we fix the foundation (estimates are about $8000) when we sell the house we will probably walk away with approximately a $90,000 profit. You never know when the situation will turn around and what looks like a deep hole might not be so bad.

Good luck!

I can pretty much do that now...I just have to make sure I go to WORK.

I guess we aren't the only ones who have to save to go to WDW. Our plans are to save to hopefully go Spring break 2007.
