so our kids will be 2 and 6 when we go to wdw. 6 nights/7 days. what are your suggestions for TS meals? I want a balance of really good food for dh and me and also fun atmospheres for the kids.

thanks!!

We like Ohana's dinner and Chef Mickey's breakfast they are fun for the kids and they have good food.

Another good TS is the Garden Grill in The Land. I also suggest Chef Mickey, O'hana, Whispering Canyon, Crystal Palace and Cape May for dinners. Have a great time !!

I haven't eaten at any of these places before, but after much research here and from IRL friends we have ADRs for

Chef Mickey
Tonys
Ohana
H&V Breakfast
Spoodles
Raglan Rd

My kids love
'Ohana (dinner)
Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner)
Cinderella's Royal Table(bfast)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Casey's (lunch)
Tusker House (lunch)
Seasons (lunch)
Alfredo's
Cap't Cook's
Rainforest Cafe

did NOT love
Chef Mickey's
Flying Fish
Cinderella dinner at GF
(ages 14, 10, 7 and 2 last trip)

I highly recommend Coral Reef. Your kids will love the huge fish tank, PLUS they have great food (both seafood and non-seafood)!

We just got back on Tuesday. My kids really liked:

Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Kona Cafe, 'Ohana (you can get kids' meals there if you want though they're not listed on the menu), Garden Grill, Coral Reef, and 50s Prime Time. We'll return to any of those again.

When my my kids were 2(DS) and 6(DD) we ate at:
Chef Mickey (brkfst) they absolutely loved this one, very interactive and fun, great server
Donald's, they liked this one too, we had a great server
Shutters, not kiddie at all but just okay as far as the food IMO (except the wings were very good), good service
Ohana (dinner), we all enjoyed this one, my DS2 at the time especially loved the wings. Our kids did not participate in the activities as we were seated on the other side of the restaurant away from the happenings, but seemed like a lot of fun, good server
WCC (dinner), we all enjoyed this one as well, another great server, lots of fun, good wings too

Then, when they were 3 and 7 we dined at:
Crystal Palace (brkfst), great fun, very bright, great server, food good
Boma (dinner), the absolute best meal of all that I've had at Disney, not kiddie at all, had something for everyone, another great server
Maya Grill (dinner), service was painfully slow, food was good, had a both, kind of dark but nice
Teppanyaki (dinner), lots of fun, very interactive, my DS3 loved the seaweed salad (interesting, kind of rubbery to me), attentive and entertaining chef
1900 Park Fare (dinner), kids loved the characters, food was just okay, I know the menu is different now, but on the buffet they did have a kiddie section, the main food was a bit 'gourmet' to me not your everyday dishes
Concourse Steakhouse (dinner), it was okay, the kids enjoyed themselves though, especially the glow cubes

This year (DS4 and DD8) we will be dining at:
LeCellier (lunch)
Cape May Cafe (dinner)
Kona Cafe (dinner)
H&V (brkfst)
50's PT (dinner)

I'll have to see how it goes, but I think we will enjoy ourselves

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PLANNING/CHOICES/DINING/VACATION!!!

My kids are also 2 & 6. It's nice to get an idea of what that age group likes/dislikes. So far for our Jan 08 trip we have (all dinners) Chef Mickey's, Princess Storybook dinner, Coral Reef, 50's PT and Whispering Canyon.

That's such a fun age to take kids, I think. I agree with the other posters as to suggestions. At that age, it's mostly all about the kids dining. We wanted the same thing, somthing good for us, yet tolerable or fun for the kids.

We went with Crystal Palace, Chef Mickeys, Coral Reef, Restaurantosaurus and 50's Prime Time. We decided against LTT and WC because the menus looked like something I could whip up in a nice frozen dinner at home! :rotfl2: We compromised on these vs. more fancy dining because we wanted to enjoy ourselves and the way to do that is make sure the kids are happy!:rotfl:

By the end of the week we were a little tired of buffets (we ate a CM more than once), but the food was always good and we were all happy. :cool1:

Hope you have a good time.

My kids will be 20 months, 3, & 4 1/2 when we go in September. Here's where we'll be eating:

Chef Mickey Breakfast & Dinner
Coral Reef
Ohana Breakfast & Dinner
Kona Cafe
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Narcoossees
Flying Fish
Le Cellier
Le Chefs de France
Hollywood Brown Derby
Hollywood & Vine Breakfast
Princess Storybook Lunch
Crystal Palace Lunch

My young boys enjoy eating at Sci-Fi. The clips are over their head, but they enjoy eating in the dark in a car! Chef Mickeys and Ohana's breakfast are also favorites. They also really enjoyed Rainforest Cafe.

We got back 2 weeks ago from a week-long trip with DD6, who still loves to see the characters. 5 of our 7 TS meals were late breakfast character buffets. They were all good. Our meal plan worked out like this - snack breakfast in the room (fruit, cereal bar), character buffet around 10:30am (gives you enough time to get to the parks, do a ride, grab a FastPass before eating), snack around 2pm and cs dinner around 6pm. Besides using the snack credits for pretzels and ice cream, we also had fruit the buffet servers let us take from the buffet to save for later.

At that age, the meals are definately all about the kids. Enjoy.
