I am looking for your suggestions on the best restaurant for a special & quiet meal for just DH and I. Victoria & Alberts is out, but we are open for anything else (as long as I can get an ADR). So could you tell me what your favorite restaurant in WDW is and why. Doesn't matter if it is in a park or resort, doesn't matter the cuisine -- just needs to be a place that serves dinner. Thanks.

DH and I enjoy Yachtsman Steakhouse very much when we are looking for a nice meal out alone. We also enjoy CA Grill, but that is usually pretty loud.

Bistro Paris is lovely - a quiet, French restaurant located above Chefs de France in Epcot. They offer a "normal" menu as well as a chef's tasting menu. And they only accept ADRs 30 days out, so you might have a better chance of getting in there if you're looking for something soon.

Jiko is also a great place - tasty food and an inventive menu and it gives you an excuse to explore the Animal Kingdom Lodge if you haven't seen it. They also have a very extensive South African wine list. And although we've not done it, they also have open kitchen seating where you can watch the foods being prepared and interact with the chefs.

Hope you have a lovely dinner, whatever you decide!! :goodvibes

Jiko and Yachtsman were both really quiet, laid back spots for us.

I loved Citricos, as well, but it was a little louder and more lively.

Bistro is constantly mentioned as a great quiet adult atmosphere (they don't even have a kids menu) but I haven't made it there yet.

Marrakesh was actually really quiet and laid back when I went last - but that was 3-4 years ago. Not sure if it still is?

Artist Point is a great place for a quiet, adult meal. The service and food are great. The atmosphere is rustic and laid back, reminiscent of the upscale Western Lodges of early 20th century.

Jiko would also also be high on the list. California Grill is a lot of fun but I wouldn't call it intimate because of the noise levels.

What is the atmosphere there like? Do you feel rushed or is it pretty relaxed?

We have never felt rushed at YSH and it seems pretty laid back, but still being nice. Usually its quiet. Once we had a large family next to us, and they were standing up, giving gifts, making speeches, etc...so it seemed to be a special occassion for them. I wouldnt say they were overly loud in general, but not on the quiet side either. ;)

We loved our dinner at Narcossee's. The food was terrific! You can order a whole lobster on the dining plan. The restaurant lighting is dark, very romantic. I did not find it loud at all and there were kids there. We were even the first table by the door and I did not find it loud. We ate during Wishes and you could go out on the deck overlooking the water and see wishes. Very romantic!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm going to sit down today and look over all of them and hopefully make a decision by tonight.

Jiko would be my choice. When we were there in October I did not see any children at all, it was very quiet and romantic. We shared a wonderful bottle of South African wine recommended by our server and all in all had a wonderful evening.
I know I am in the minority, but we did not enjoy the Yachtsman Steakhouse and we will not return. Both times we went we found the food to be over spiced and just not good. For example, I could not eat the horseradish mashed potatoes, and I like horseradish. It is beautiful and the service was wonderful. We just did not like the food.
Have a Great Trip

LOL! I just had to chime in here...guess what I made with dinner tonight? Those very potatoes.;) I just love them! :thumbsup2

DH and I had a really great meal at Artist Point last month. The food and service were excellent.

Narcoosee's and California Grill during MK fireworks are both nice. Yachtman's is quiet and sophisticated.
