Hello All: I am need of some help. I have some questions. I have booked my trip next month from 15Nov to the 19. Question 1- We are staying at the Carousel Inn and I am nervous of booking there. I have read some reports that are not so nice. Can someone who has been there recently tell me how it is and the second questions is- when a ride is down for refurb. what are the chance that it will open sooner then it says on the schedule. I am hoping that the Pirates ride open a couple of days earlier then exspected.

We spent a week at the Carousel in May and booked it again for our NYE trip. It was clean, quiet and well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. The standard rooms are quite small and if you need a rollaway I strongly urge upgrading to the bigger rooms.

Can't speak to the Carousel Inn, but it looks as though it has been getting better reviews lately.

Regarding refurbs, if they open early (which is a VERY big if), I have normally seen where they open close to the original date. I wouldn't think you have a very good shot, but you never know! I would go in expecting not to ride it and then have a good surprise if it does re-open. Have fun! :goodvibes

You will read negative reviews for pretty much all hotels. Carousel is your basic hotel, clean, confrontable & a place to sleep.

Thanks for all the help. I wanted the Candy Cane Inn but was already booked up. I am hoping the it does open up earily but not holding my breath. :woohoo:

As far a Carousel Inn goes, make sure you get a club level or premium room. We stayed there in June and were very disappointed with the basic 2 queen room. It was disgusting and poorly maintained - the toilet ran and backed up, the wallpaper was torn, the sliding door to the bathroom was broken, the bathtub was filthy with half of it's finish rubbed off, the towels could have been from the 80's they were so worn and dirty and the beds were broken. Oh and the TV didn't work.

Half way through our trip we were moved to a club-level king and it was a complete 180. The bathroom was gorgeous, the hardwood floors were clean, we got actual clean, white towels and the bed was so comfortable. Plus it had a flat-screen TV that actually worked. One more tip - if you happen to be in the room when housekeeping comes around early in the morning, there's a good chance they won't be back to clean your room later. This happened to us so we always called housekeeping when we were leaving for the day to make sure they'd send someone back to clean the room.
