I'll be traveling to Disney World Spring Break March 10-13, 2014. This will be our family first trip to disney. I know that we aren't able to see everything in one trip since more people going we are driving.(If it was just my husband and son we would fly) I was thinking we would get to Orlando and get settled that first day and do downtown disney, the next day get up and do Magic Kingdom the next day. Here's where I need help. I was thinking we would need to stay a full day at MK instead of trying to do a park hopper since it's our first time then the next day we would do Universal Studios and the last do the beach and outlet mall. Suggestions please!

Whoa. First of all with only 3 days (well 4 if you count arrival) I'd ditch anything but WDW to be honest. But that's just me.

A 1 day ticket to MK is $95. A 4 day ticket is $279, or $69.75 per day.

Totally agree with this and no I wouldn't park hop.

So we are going for 4 days 3 night so my alternate was to do 1 day at Animal Kingdom and 1 day at Magic Kingdom. My son is 8 and my goddaughter that is going is 16, my niece is 10 and nephew is 11. That's why Universal Studios was placed in there.

Personally I think WDW only is the best for your travel party. There is plenty of older kid attractions here and I don't think I'd be running all over FL like that with only 4 days.

On your first day (if it's a short day) consider AK and make your FP+ reservations (are you staying onsite?) for Everest, Safari and Dinosaur - that will make your older kids happy. I say go to AK on your short day b/c it is the best park to make a half day out of, IMO.

Then pick one park for each of your remaining 3 days.

We will be driving that Sunday Night and arriving that Monday so I figured after all that driving we could not do anything big that first day. My 8 yr old son loves dinosaurs so if they have anything like that at Animal Kingdom we most definitely will make that a stop. We will be staying off property since my brother works for Marriott we got a good deal.

I agree. I would especially skip beach and outlet, you will just end up spending most of your day driving and you don't want to do that the day before you drive home. Universal studios is cool, not in my opinion disney cool but still cool. However you give no clues on the ages of the children and I wouldn't do universal myself if the attending children are not 45".
My two cents.

Thank you all so much for tips/advice! It was greatly needed! I thought I post the kids age. They are 8, 10,11,16. My son didn't want to go by himself so my sister and her kids, and my mom are coming along with me and my husband.
