I need some tips for selling something

In the process of trying to make a sale. Have 4 people "thinking" about buying right now. I would like to make this sale and move on, how do I encourage these people to make a decision.

If you don't mind my asking, what exactly are you trying to sell? Is it something expensive, like a house, or something smaller, like handmade crafts? Selling strategies depend on the amount of money you are asking.

Perhaps if you gave more information people would be able to help more.

I'd broaden the purchasing field. Put it in craigslist, paper, classifieds, whatever, with statement of:

First $xx.xx takes it.

Tell the four people you'll be listing the item in the classifieds on such and such date. That way you set a deadline of how much more time they can linger.
