I need some recommendations....

We are going on a DIS cruise in late Jan. and we will be staying an extra day to visit WDW. (it will be me, my DH, and 1 year old DS). We are making the drive back from Cape Canaveral that AM in a rental car, heading toward the hotel, and after check in and naptime, will be headed to WDW for half day. So I need some recommendations on a room! Which resort would best fit our needs? Here are a list of things we'd like:

Baby Friendly (cribs available?)
Extra Magic Hours (we've checked and WDW has extra PM hours the day we'll be there)
Transportation to WDW and airport if possible.
View of fireworks?
Balcony?

Since it will be january, and we're only going to be there 1 night, I highly doubt we'll get to use the pools or amenities...so we don't want to spend a fortune for a hotel we'll barely use.

As it's only one night, I'd recommend the All Star Movies (value). To spend hundreds of dollars on a deluxe resort and not utilize anything there is just a waste of $$.

When you say WDW, do you actually mean MAGIC KINGDOM? If you do mean MK instead of WDW, which is ALL four parks, I would recommend that you stay at the Contemporary. Since your time is very limited, it makes sense for you to be as close to MK as possible. There is no faster way to the MK than the walk from the CR. Since you aren't going to use resort amentities, it makes sense to go with the least expensive of the three monorail resorts.

Another alternative would be the Wilderness Lodge. It wouldn't be quite as close but you would have direct transportation via the boat and the price is less.
