I'm not sure where to put this so I'm going to toss it up here figuring since I"ll touch the 40% off code and AP rates maybe this is the best place. I'm going to be staying in the AKL Sept. 26-Oct 6 with my boyfriend. Since that trip was planned I decided to run the ToT race on Oct. 27 so I plan on being in WDW Oct. 25-Oct. 28 with my cousin most likely staying at POR. Now I'm thinking about doing a long weekend for the marathon weekend in Jan. My question is at this point I know I will probably want park passes for 12 days for the two definite trips. If I add the marathon weekend who knows how many more days I'll want in terms of park passes. My question is are AP passes worth looking into for me? I mean obviously they are in terms of park passes alone but if I have an AP and my bf doesn't will that affect our reservation? (Yes, we have the dinning plan for the trip.) I assume the AP doesn't affect our 40% rate. I guess I'm just looking to find out the way to get the best bang for my buck. So what advice do all you experts have? I keep trying to figure it out but it just makes my head hurt! lol

I would first calculate out the cost of your tickets for the 2 stays. Remember that the more days you get on your ticket the cheaper each day cost. Also remember that the ticket expires 14 days after the first use. Unless you pay for no expiration. Which adds quite a bit to the cost. Then compare it to the cost of an AP. You might even remember to consider the discounts the AP gives you.

I recently went through this dilemma myself. I was looking at getting tickets for 10 days (either 10 day no expiration or a 3 and a 7 day ticket) for my June and September trip. No matter how I calculated it, checking sites that sold discount tickets, on and on, renewing my ap turned out to be the better deal for me. We also have the 40% off package in September so I changed my hoppers to 1 day base tickets and will have them put the1 day tickets on a paper ticket and save it for a later trip.

If the AP looks best to you, call now and change to 1 day base tickets. When you get there go to guest services and use the cost of the 1 day ticket toward a hopper for your boyfriend and an annual pass for you.

Thank you. Guess it's time to pull up wdw's website and my calculator to crunch some numbers.
