I am booking the Fantasmic Dinner Package for 2 adults. I have the choice between Hollywood Brown Durby at 5:40 and Hollywood & Vine at 5:00.

Which reservation is better? The first showing of Fantasmic is at 7. We also might be eating at the Bown Derby later in the week during the Thrills Tour but I am told that they can't promise that we will eat there.

You may be cutting it close with the HBD time. They tend to have slower paced meals there in my experience. I'd be concerned they could run behind with your ADR and then you would have to rush through your fairly expensive meal to get to Fantasmic at a reasonable time. Even with the reserved seating in the package, I like to show up half an hour before start time to get good seats.

Obviously with the buffet there is no wait for the food and you can eat at your own pace plus you have the extra 40 minutes with the earlier ADR.

I don't think they would have made the reservation at HBD unless they thought they could swing the timing. It is a party of two. We went there with 11 and it took an hour and a half. It was a good meal. H&V is/was a buffet of questionable quality from what I've read.

Are you sure those are F! Dining Package ADRs and not just regular dinner reservations? Both of them look to be too late if F! is at 7. Our meals at HBD normally take 1 1/2 - 2 hours. And you need to be in the amphitheatre about 30 minutes early.

The night we are planning to attend Fantasmic there is only one showing and it is at 9:00. I don't know why I thought it was at 7

So that takes care of the timing issue but what about the food? Is HBD worth eating at twice?

If you are worried about the food, I wouldn't do either. Hollywood and Vine is Shoney's type quality in my book and HBD is the worst signature we've ever done. I've never been, but I've heard good things about Mama Melrose lately and if you're set on doing the Fantasmic package that would be my choice.

I am assuming that there are no openings at MM ..SOOOOOOOoo that being the case..I would pick Hollywood and Vine..there are plenty of choices and the food is not as bad as some are saying...Hope you have a great time planning

We love HBD and wouldn't mind eating there twice in one trip. The food and service are excellent.

We ate at H & V once and it was awful. We won't go back. I don't think anyone goes to H & V for the food.

Yes, eat at HBD twice. The food is fantastic. The food at H&V is pretty gross and when it gets busy, it gets dirty and messy!

It dosn't matter much to us. I'm more worried about the timing and the food.
If you aren't deterred by the fact that HBD is twice the price, I'd do that. I have to agree that it gets a bad wrap; not because of the food which is great, but because of the price. We try to go every trip just for the Cobb salad and the grapefruit cake, but I'd never go there if I was on the dining plan.
