I need some advice about calling into MS.

My fiance and I are doing our first part of our honeymoon using our DVC. Our home is AKV. Obviously I am trying to get Concierge. It will be in late July 2010. I am set and ready and counting down the days to call MS at 9AM at our 11 month window and with all the stigma about AKV Concierge I am nervous! We REALLY want to do all the tours involved with staying in a concierge room! Any tips and advice?

Does anyone know what buttons to press to get through the prompts by heart? When someone gets on the line should I just receite my member number all my information and scream "AKV concierge for these dates!!!"

I am going to ask for the range of dates and then say "if you can not get the whole time just book whatever you can get".

I am so nervous I just realized I wouldn't put my dates in this post.

So any advice?

You could call MS a day or two beforehand to see what the prompts are so you're comfortable - ask the CM you talk to then what's the quickest way to expedite your request when you call in a few days since you know CL is in short supply/high demand. When I called (almost 11 months ago) I started dialing at about 8:50am because I figured my clocks at home might be set differently from MS's clocks (yes, I'm crazy). I actually got through before my clock said 9:00am so I guess if I had waited I might have been out of luck. I had prepared myself that it was a long shot and was pleasantly surprised! Try calling on 2 different lines (example: home line and cell), and which ever gets answered first, drop the other one. Or even you do this on 2 phones and have your DF do it on another!

No advice other than to start calling a little before 9 AM Eastern and use as many lines (both of you using a cell each plus one on the home line...) as possible to get through like the others have said. Good luck and please let us know what you get!!!

You may even wish to call the day before and depending on the CM that you get, they may tell you if CL is even available or not. It is possible that those rooms could already be booked by people calling in and booking a few days ahead of you and staying for longer periods.

I think you stand a good chance, that's a slower time of year. We were able to get 4 nights in concierge at the 7 month window at the end of June last year. We did the Sunrise Safari, it was awesome!

It also probably wouldn't hurt to let the CM know that this is your Honeymoon you're planning...like when you call a day or two before just to check out the drill.

I say just relax and call at 9 am at your 11 month window, I have booked 4 concierge stays so far, I called at 9 am at my 11 month window for all but 1 of them and that 1 I forgot and called 2 days later and still got it.

I just reserved a concierge one bedroom at the seven month window for Feb 28 and March 1. Don't panic....

First off - CONGRATULATIONS! I think you will have an amazing honeymoon....

I agree with the other posters. Call a few days ahead and "plant the seed" so to speak. You might luck out and get more than what you are asking for. The MS cast is usually pretty good about helping.

I wish you luck, but I think you will be fine.

We decided last week to try to book AKV concierge. I figured we had no chance since we were 2 months past our 11 month window...well lucky us! I got it..! Good Luck and have a great honeymoon!

I called this morning to book a 2 bedroom for July 6-9, 2010...I was able to get a 1 bedroom...Which is fine because they have the sleeper chair...Anyway wanted to let you know this is what I did:

*started calling at 8:57...Got recording they were not open
*called every twice for the next three minutes
*waste of time because I did not get through unitl 9:00 on the dot

*Press 1 as soon as your hear the recording
*Press 1 as after the recording goes to next set of choices...there is a period of less than a minute where you cannot choose 1 because the recording wants you to hear the information about dates and dining
*I got right through without a minute of waiting
*Ask to reserve room first then give the information on who will be staying in the room
