Ok, I do not know what got into me. I have just started scrapbooking and love it. My problem is I just promised my daughter that I would make scrapbooking type invites to her graduation party. She is so excited. She hates the pre-printed kind. I bought the folded papers for the invites and now I am stuck. She wants it to be pretty and elegant. I want a baby picture and a "now" picture on the inside along with the wording. (I have plenty of good stuff for that.)

Here is the problem what goes on the outside? I have been searching the internet and have found nothing. The paper is ivory, so anything will do on it. I have seen great party invites with colors, but can't translate it to graduation. Please guys HELP!!! I am stuck! It has to be fairly easy (not to simple) that I can make about 60 of them. Help me please???

Give me a day or so to think on this....and look around.. I have a DsS graduating next year and for extended family and friends we are making his invites personally..... (too much for the others!)

I've got a few ideas.. let me see if they work or what we could suggest from our side..

OMG...any help at all would be extremely appreciated. I can do the work if I have something to go by. I spent hours toda at Michael's, and Jo-Ann Fabrics and got nothing. Great stickers, but that would be a fortune. Thank you for any and all help.

How about a diecut mortarboard and diploma on the cover? OR Congratulations! Cut on the cricut on some glitter paper - I know I have a cart with that on it. . . . somewhere.

Or something stamped and embossed could be a little more elegant.

Both these have great examples.

I hope I am linking to this well. Stamping Up has a nice Grad set of stamps for $24.95- It is on page 48 of their current catalog. I believe the link will just take you to the catalog and you will have to put in the page number to see it. You coiuld do it in any color ink you like.

I would say a stamp is the best thing for 60 invitations- again you can use an ink color that goes with the ivory color- maybe the school color in inks.

One thing I have seen (depending on what the outside of her school building looks like) is a picture of the school that you could take with your camers, scan, then use an editing tool and use a washout feature or sepia color and print on the front color. You could do the same thing with her actual cap and gown or announcement, etc. possibilities are endless. Just a thought...Good Luck!!!:cheer2:

I ended up with two custom stamps fromhttp://www.stampin.com/online/new/0407-1.htm and am waiting for them to come in. I will post the finished product. One thing we will do is actually use one of her to old to donate school uniform skirts, to make the bows at the top of the invite. Thus everyone gets a bit of her school memory! Thank you for the ideas and links, I appreciate it :)

Cute idea..can't wait to see the finished project...
Now, you have me wanting to figure something out for DsS who graduates next year.. DD wants some cool girlie stuff but we shall see...than it's all boys graduating after that...

I just hope by the time my youngest graduates its not all via the computer! LOL

The first one goes on the outside of the invite on velum on top of a purple strip.
