Party of 7 including a 3 year old, 5 year old, and 7 year old. All dislike seafood except me :confused3

Here are our current ADRs:

Garden Grill
Whispering Canyon
Le Cellier
50's Prime Time
Sci Fi
Liberty Tree Tavern (is this character?)

I have cancelled chef mickeys and 1900 Park fare due to bad reviews. Character meals are not a must, but if they are good, I'm for it!

1. Do you think chef mickeys and 1900 park fare are worth it? I really don't care if the food is phenomenal, but I would like it to be enjoyable. From what I've read they are almost inedible.

2. I've heard Ohana's service is awful and wait time is torture and food is hit or miss. But it was one I wanted to do. I want to enjoy myself. Worth it?

3. This is my second time to Disney on the dining plan so I'm pretty new to the restaurants there. I'm open to suggestions! Just remember I have 3 smallish children (who are actually pretty good at restaurants).

4. Just a fun (maybe?) note...we are travelling as a group of 30! All family. We won't be dining all together at all. A few of our ADRs are larger, but we are so flexible. The ADR I'm looking to book is just for my family and mil/fil. We get there a few days early.

5. I'm so sorry this is so jumbled! I'm sitting here waiting for a teacher workshop to begin and have had an extremely large cup of coffee. My brain is all over the place. Kind of getting how my students feel daily (hopefully minus the coffee!)

We have had dinner twice at CM and, while the food wasn't great, it was good. But since you have an ADR at GG you will already meet Mickey and the gang so I'm not sure I would do CM. I haven't tried Park Fare so I can't comment on that but I hear the step sisters are a hoot:goodvibes

LTT is no longer a character meal but I still like it. It's my favorite TS in MK.

Have you considered 'Ohana? It's getting a lot of mixed reviews lately but I think it's worth a try. I've also heard a lot of great things about Biergarten in EPCOT.

Oh my....I'm not much help!

LTT is NOT a character meal.

1. We will never go back to 1900 PF. It was the worst dining experience we ever had. The food was NASTY and the service was the same.

2. Try Ohana and make your own opinion based upon that. We LOVE Ohana but you can feel rushed at times. Nonetheless we are still going back in March ;)

3. Since LTT isn't a character meal you might want to try Garden Grill in Epcot as it offers similar food but with characters. Some others you might look into could be Akershus, Tony's, Tusker House Breakfast in Animal Kingdom, Chefs de France (they have Remi at certain times of the day, kids might enjoy that) and Crystal Palace.

4. Thats a LOT of family! That is awesome ;)

5. I applaud you teachers!!! I don't know how you guys do it because I spent about 5 minutes in my DD's 3rd grade class last week and just about RAN out of there once I was done LOL.

GL with deciding!!!

I would definitely go to Ohana. I've never had a bad meal in there, the food has always been great quality. The service can be a little slow at times but I've never had it bad.

Crystal palace is a great meal and the kids will love pooh and the gang. We quite enjoyed Mama Melrose in DHS even though we were re-routed there when our ressie at Sci-Fi was cancelled as they had to close-nice Italian food although I know a lot don't like it. We always do San Angel although I think it divides people more than any other place;) and le cellier is nice if you are carnivores!

ooh bugger-you have already said you're going to le cellier-sorry its Friday afternoon and my brain has had enough for the week! Boma for brekkie was nice too

Sounds like a great trip. I would LOVE to go with 30 people, but not plan it!!!

We liked 1900 Park Fare -- the breakfast food was very good... and it was fun to greet Mary Poppins, the Mad Hatter, and Alice... Tigger and Pooh were there too when we went in 2009. The Mad Hatter is a lot of fun. We also liked dinner... if you are looking to meet Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters... it wasn't the greatest dinner but we certainly found enough that we liked to eat. The stepsisters are hilarious.

Liberty Tree is no longer a character meal.... but we love Crystal Palace! We go for lunch.. The buffet has a good variety and quality of food. Been here 5times.

I would not go to Ohana. Food not good, possible very long wait, not fun, waste of time. You could be there forever....

With 3 children, I'd pick some of the fun, themed restaurants. In Epcot, I'd pick Coral Reef, Biergarten, or Restaurant Marrakesh. (I'd go to any of those before Le Cellier!)

Will you be at Animal Kingdom any of your first days? Yak and Yeti has GREAT food.

We have been to both Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare multiple times. CM has ok food, and the character interaction is good although we have been rushed there at times. We have had to wait there before (maybe 20 minutes). We really enjoy 1900 Park Fare for both breakfast and dinner. The food was good all 3 times we have been and we've never waited long (maybe 10 minutes?). We love the characters there, especially at dinner time with the Lady Tremaine and her daughters! They are great!

We also really like Ohana. We have also never had to wait longer than 10 minutes or so there. I do tend to make my reservations early for all meals, so that might be why we generally don't have to wait long.

We also enjoy Biergarten at Epcot a lot. Some people say that it isn't good for picky eaters, but both of my daughters (7 & 4) have no problems finding food they like there!

We also love Donald's Breakfast Safari at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, and we enjoy both Boma and Sanaa at AKL. Good luck choosing!

Liberty Tree Tavern is not a character meal....however, the service was great and the food was wonderful!

Le Cellier was a must as it was the only one I really wanted! Mommy needs to be happy!

I haven't looked into yak and yeti! We went to Tusker house last visit (not impressed, but we had a lot going against us that day) and haven't thought about any other AK ADRs. Maybe it's time to look into it!

I'm typing on my iPad and it's not very DIS friendly for quoting and such, but I want to thank all for replies! Keep them coming!

I liked the food and characters at Akershus in Epcot, we really enjoyed Chef Mickeys a lot. We also liked O'Hana's the food was really good and there was a lot of it. My DD liked the coconut race.

1. To me Chef MIckey's is not worth it, but that doesn't mean it's not worth it too you. The food is not inedible, it's just not great. Especially as much as it costs. Character interraction was great though. So it may be worth it to you just for the characters. I ate at 1900 PF five or so years ago so I don't feel good about giving you a review about it. When we ate there it was fine but, as I said, that was several years ago.

2. We've ate at Ohana probably five or six times. The best service I ever had was just OK. So yes the restaurant does have a rep for not great servie. We've never experienced long waits for our table. Maybe ten or 15 minutes after our ADR time, and only once. Most of the time we get beeped right at our ADR time. I think it's worth it.

3. Another character meal you may want to consider is Crystal Palace. Breakfast at CP has become a must do for our family. Never had lunch or dinner there though.

Crystal Palace was an original choice, but dh nixed it because he has a hard time with Pooh characters. :confused3 Maybe there's a dark spot in his childhood involving them:lmao:.

I went ahead and booked Ohana. We'll try it and see how it goes. I got the 5:00 reservation, which is the first slot of the evening, so hopefully that will help with the wait. I am peeing in my pants excited about this trip!!!! I think I might try my hand at a pre trip report. I need something to occupy me for 5 months!

Ohana is one of our top 4 favorites! Certainly worth it! The food at Garden Grill is edible, but not good. Our kids like the characters and say this is one of their favorites. We have eaten there 3 times and I have regretted the price we pay for that food every time. At least at Chef Mickey's there is a variety of food. Not great, but good. I love Boma, and so do the Kids. You won't regret the food at Le Cellier, but service is sometimes slow. Sci Fi was fun, but food was just okay. You may look at Kouzzina as well, we enjoyed it!
