We have been to the following restaurants:
Spoodles
Boma
Kona Cafe
Ohana
WCC
Hoop de doo
1900 Park faire
Beaches and cream
Cape may
Cinderella breakfast
LTT
Chef Mickeys
Le cellier

We are trying this trip:

Artist Point
Biergarten

I need one more. To give you an idea of what we liked, we are going back to Boma, Spoodles, WCC, Kona. We also really liked Le Cellier, but we are Canadian and are accustomed to that type of food.

We have a DS9 and DD7.

What about 50's PTC or Sci-fi? You do not have anything at MGM. We love 50's, good food and a whole lot of fun.

I was leaning toward one of these two places for the kids. Could you give me a quick synopsis of each?

Sci-Fi. If you get a car, the kids sit up front; you and DH sit in the back. Your kids are old enough that they don't need you to help with their meals. You'll get some semi-private time (sort-of, DH and I were able to talk a little while our boys watched the screen and talked a little to each other). Good food. Fun atmosphere. We're going back. :thumbsup2

My favorite meal was at The Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room, everything about it was fabulous!! We got to sit outside, and between our appetizer and main course, we got to watch the fireworks, with an excellent view! The service was great, everything was great, my kids really liked it too, I had the Potato/leek soup app(yum, very creamy) the steak and fish entree (excellent) and the sticky toffee pudding (sinful) for dessert. Everything was perfect and to tell you the truth even with all the people and my kids around, it was kind of romantic. That's just my opinion though.

I personally think the food at 50's is better than Sci fi and I think it is just as entertaining. If your in Scifi too long they will run the movies over.

This sounds great too. What time did you have your ADR for?

HEY! We'll have none of that- this is a G rated board kiddies! :rotfl:

I noticed that you don't have any character meals on your list. What about Garden Grill. We ate there in late May and loved it. The food was awesome and the character interaction was good. The restaurant is located over the Land and rotates while you are eating. My entire family enjoyed it more than CP. We will definitely go back on our 2007 trip.

Well, as far as the time, we had a res for 7:30 and we ended up being about 45 minutes late, and I was so stressed that we would not get to eat here, but they said we were fine and we might have to wait a little bit, and that the outdoor seating was not guaranteed. It only took them about 10 minutes to seat us and although we didn't get an actual outdoor lagoon table, we were sat outdoors very close to the building. They have an area that is roped off for viewing of the fireworks and it is directly on the water....I am not kidding this was the best meal overall for the entire 10 day trip. If you do go there, order a water, they will bring you a gorgeous ice cold cobalt blue bottle of TyNant water, this was the best tasting water I have ever had, I am not exaggerating, even my dh agreed, and it is hard to impress him. I would try to make the res between 7:30-8:00, and even if they can't seat you outside, they will allow you to go to the fireworks viewing area. I loved it so much I booked it twice for the next trip. Enjoy no matter what you decide. You can check out the menu at allearsnet.com

I definitely vote for 50's PTC! It's so fun for kids of any age. It's like the whole family (mom and dad included) are kids. The waitresses are like mom's and they "make" you eat your food. The whole restaurant has a classic 50s/60s atmosphere and design. And the dessert menu comes in the form of a viewmaster!

This year's trip, we're trying the Liberty Tree Tavern character meal. I defnitely reccommend some type of character meal....my sister and i are 15 and 20 (respectively) and we LOVE character meals! Some of the good ones are Garden Grille, Chef Mickey..do some research...i'm sure you'll find something that fits your kids.

Good luck!
