I need new black dress shoes to wear to work. I am on my feet all day, so they must be flat or nearly flat with good arch support (no heels or ballerina flats). I'm also hoping to find something that is somewhat cute, not an orthopedic looking shoe.

Anyway, any recommendations? I was looking at a shoe on Zappos.com by a brand called Sofft, I have tried this brand on before and yes, they were very soft and comfortable, but wow, they are $90. :faint: I have never spent that much on a pair of shoes, ever! I'm wondering if a pair like this might be a good investment, though. Here's a link:

Anyone else try this brand and have anything to say about them?

Open to other suggestions as well! Money saving suggestions especially!!

They didn't work for me, but I know people who love Danskos. Did you try Aerosoles or Easy Spirit?

I was going to suggest this also... and Easy Spirit makes some pretty "trendy" shoes, as well as "classics".

Kenneth cole also did a line for Aerosoles.

I don't know much about that brand but I've been told by many people that were older than I that you try to buy the best shoe you can. Just because you don't have feet problems now doesn't mean you won't in the future so treat your feet right now. If you can afford a good shoe, please think about getting it. Your feet will thank you in the future.

Clarks -also pricey might have something you would like - Zappos has those as well

This is exactly why I've come here. I have never spent this much on a pair of shoes, and I'm wondering if it's really worth it. I am thinking it must be, considering all of the ones I've gone through have been fairly inexpensive...most have lasted me about six months before they start looking ratty and nasty, and of course not feeling so good. Will the more expensive shoes last a bit longer?

I am looking into every brand mentioned, btw. Thanks for all your suggestions. Keep 'em coming.

Cole-Haan has a line that all feature the Nike Air soles, I have a pair of black mules that are dressy looking but have the Nike Air pad.

Are the more expensive shoes worth it? Every penny, IMO! I wear mostly Clark's & the like, and I have some pairs that are several years old and look just like new. If you have a Marshall's near you, try there -- I recently bought a pair of Clark's sandals for $20! I don't recommend going into debt for a pair of shoes ;) , of course, but I'd go for the best pair I can spring for. Your feet will thank you! :cool1:

I could have written the title of this thread....Last Thursday after my shoes got stuck in paint...totally ruining them.

Eurosteps are the best ones for my feet.....little to no heel and very comfortable. I have odd shaped feet so I have a heck of a time getting shoes to fit. I hate paying the amount I do (I am a cheapskate at heart) but these last a long time and stay comfortable until they get stuck in paint. :lmao:

This is what I ended up with:

replacing the Mariah in that brand that I've had for about 3 years...wearing probably at least 3 times a week.

When I was on my feet all day for work, I pretty much wore Aerosoles or Easy Spirit all the time.

I was going to suggest Munro Shoes, http://www.munroshoes.com/, but if $90 is too much, these aren't for you. I firmly believe you get what you pay for in shoes. Born are also a very comfortable shoe but higher priced too. Also, get something with a bit of a heal, 1/2" or so and your back will thank you. I wouldn't get a spike type heal but a wedge heal. You will find they are more comfortable then flats with little to no heal.
