Okay I admit I was enduring the post disney blues when I left Disney World in August but damn it I wanna go again I just can't get enough of that place it's like my second home alongside Center Parcs in the UK. So I figured what the hell I might as well plan my second trip. Now I know it's usually crowded during January and Febuary so I'm thinking maybe round about March or April but I don't know how much it will cost for me and three friends to go there for 3 weeks. So got any ideas on how I could make the trip?

January and February are actually usually less crowded than March and April. That is because all of the schools in the states have a week off (Spring break) at some point between the beginning of March and the end of April. I believe President's Day weekend is really the only time that gets crowded in February. If you really have to go during March or April, then I would probably aim for the first week of March, or at least one week after Easter (so basically the last two weeks of April). End of April will be MUCH warmer than early March.

I think the best thing to do would be to play around on the Disney website and try pricing different vacation options (resorts, different weeks, arriving on different days), as well as doing the same with airlines. That way you can see when would be the most affordable to go.

Is that what you normally do when your planning a trip, Rommel? Because just to let you know it is actually my first time planning a trip so yeah.

Yeah, that's what I do. Sometimes I'll even go and price a "fake" trip just for fun, or to see how much a deluxe resort would be should I win the lottery. :rotfl:

But yeah, I'll check out the prices for different options (resorts, dates, with or without dining plan, etc), I'll check the crowd calendar at Touring Plans (if my subscription is still valid at the time), and do the same with airlines (different airlines, their arrival time, their prices, which day is cheaper, etc.).

That is also what I did when I helped a friend planned. I told her about the "theme" of the different resorts, and the price ranges (value, moderate, deluxe). Once she chose a resort we checked for flights. Once we knew what we wanted for both, we booked both. Disney first, because it's easier to cancel.

The planning of which park to go to, and which attractions to do, comes much later.

I'm not good with prices and all that, yeah your talking to someone whose Maths skills are crap at best. But seeing as your teacher working out the prices will be a lot easier. So okay look at prices first, leave the parks and resorts till last. Got it.

Okay it's time for an update. I know I haven't been on this thread much and that's because I have been busy with a lot of things recently so I've decided to spend a little bit more time here and I've got a virgin holidays brochure and I'm currently deciding on a hotel and it's gonna be one at WDW instead of an appartment 2 hours outside of the resort. So any recommendations on where to stay?

If you are looking to save money, I definitely recommend staying at a value resort. Any of them would be great, depending on what kind of theme you prefer. But to me, I LOVE POP Century! The theming is fun, the resort is compact enough that no room is that far from everything, the food court is big and offers lots of great food, the pools are okay, and the buses are quite efficient. The only downside is that the bus stops at the parks are often the furthest away. But you are young, I don't think you'll be afraid of a little extra walking. Plus, depending on your dates, you might get a chance to see what the new Art of Animation looks like, just across the lake.

Yeah that'll be nice and considering it's gonna built near one of the hotels right? I was thinking along the lines of either the Port orleans resort and the animal kingdom lodge.

Art of Animation (a value resort) is being built right across from POP Century (another value). Port Orleans ( a moderate resort) has the boat to Downtown Disney. Animal Kingdom Lodge (a deluxe resort) is great for the savannah that lets you view animals. All of these resorts are nice, but vary GREATLY in price. It's really important you figure out your budget first.
