Hello fellow DISer's,
Well we are down to a month before we go on our family vacation to Disney. I don't know about anyone else, but I had a few questions in regards to Pop Century having a coffee pot in the room? Up here in Maine we have our Starbucks, and our Dunkin Donuts coffees. I here down there all you have at parks are Nescafe and that it is not that great? I thought I could maybe take some coffee down with us and we could make some in room before we head out to parks in the am? Both husband & I are avid coffee drinkers in the am to get us movin....... :cool1: :moped:

Sorry that I can't be of coffee help this morning, but can't wait to see the answers as we are headed back down (finally) in October!

Also, want to say a big "WELCOME TO THE DIS" fellow Maine-iac!!! :cheer2:

Welcome aboard......I have read on other thread where people have brought there own coffee pots and used them at POP. My husband can drink a whole pot in the am......I will definitely bring a coffee pot with me when we go.

He's not to keen on nescafe either....

Have a great trip

If you head over to the Poly in the morning they have a great Kona coffee stand on the second floor of the lobby. Now how to get up the energy to get to the Poly before you've had your coffee? :confused3 There is also a Dunkin Donuts just outside of the the Downtown Disney Hotels. I go there to get my wife a cup of Joe when we stay at POR. It isn't that bad of a ride!

Bring on the Dunkin Donut coffee !! OH yea.. I bring my own - measured into little snack size baggies so I can just dump it on in the coffee maker - no measureing no fuss to brew while I take my shower!! Have a great Trip .. Michelle

Hello fellow Mainahs!
Can't help you with the question about coffeemakers in the rooms at Pop, but we also are addicted to coffee and always make our own when in Florida (usually we stay off-site). Not only is the Disney coffee a nightmare, made from Nescafe syrup, but the water in FL is abysmal; it's all heavily treated (Fl is, after all, a sand bar in a swamp!) and tastes like it! So, if you are making coffee in your room, don't forget to buy gallons of H2O at Publix or your coffee will taste like swill!

Hey, Bangor is catching up with the rest of the civilized world...not only do we have a Starbucks now, but it has a *drivethru*!!! Bigsis1970, my DH just interviewed in Standish, at St.Joseph's...maybe we'll be neighbors!

OMG... You just made my year! :cheer2: Thank you for telling us!

I'm guessing that the DD mentioned is actually not on Disney property...correct?

Great tip leebee...we do this too! And  hello from a former Hampden Academy Bronco!

All Mainers take care this weekend....flood watches are out! Please stay safe!

It's about a mile, maybe a twitch further from DTD.

I'd just bring my own small Mr. Coffee machine and your own DD coffee and make it in the room.

If you buy a 4 cup and keep it in the box it will ship with no problems in checked luggage. I had mine in my luggage going to Las Vegas and a couple other palces with no problems at all.

My husband is the only one who drinks coffee, and he's usually up long before me. And it's not unusual for him to hop in the car and head out to DD...no matter where we are. Although we are heading to Europe next week and he's very disappointed that there isn't a DD nearby.

I'm the avid coffe drinker at our house. We bring our New Orleans brand-Community coffee- and I always leave room in my suitcase for my 4 cupper. Thanks for the tip about buying the water!

We stayed at Pop in January. There are no coffee makers available so if you want to make your own you must bring your own coffeemaker.

We brought our Black and Decker Brew and Go (or something like that). It brews one cup at a time directly into a travel mug (of which we have two). We brought a bag of Eight O'Clock coffee and used bottled water and hazelnut creamer bought at our stop at Albertson's (we also buy a styrofoam cooler $3).

I like coffee right when I get up so bringing it worked out great. They sell them at Walmart fairly cheaply, like in the $10-20 range. We use it at home to make coffee for the ride to work.

Correct it is right outside of the Downtown Disney Hotel area. As you leave Disney property the Crossroads shopping center is directly across the street. Instead of going straight turn left Dunkin Donuts is about 1/4 mile on the left. If you had turned right you would have hit I-4, just to give you another landmark.

Thanks! I think I know where you mean, although it's been a couple years since I've been there. I think we came in that way last time, when I was in Orlando visiting a friend of mine and we were only going to DTD for the day.

Hey Mainers - another "flatlander" who loves DD's coffee. I can't be bothered with the whole coffee maker thing, tho. DH and I do fine with decaf tea at WDW. Can NOT stand WDW coffee.

Oh my goodness... you just made my day! I could never find a DD in the area, and I didn't know one was this close! Can't start the day with a crappy cup of coffee - I need my DD! We drive down, too, so we always have a car. Looks like a road trip early in the morning for me :) Though our next trip we're staying in a house, so I'm just going to bring my DD grounds with me. :cheer2:

We have Dunkin Donuts here in Boston and I am addicted, but.....I love the Disney Coffee...drink tons while I'm there. I must be just happy to be there!!!!

Katy...here in the Boston area there's a DD about every 20 feet. It's on one of those joke things "You know you're from Massachusetts if there's a Dunkin Donuts on every street corner."

And it's good thing there's that many... ever have a day when it's only the smell of the coffee from the next corner that gets you there?

For those staying further offsite or taking a daytrip to areas ouside of Disney (What? There's life outside of Disney?!), I searched and found 5 "local" DnD just to get you from here to there:

1 807 W VINE ST, KISSIMMEE, FL 34741, 407-933-2545 1.22 M

2 1935 EAST OSCEOLA PKWY, BUENA VENTURA LAKES, FL 34743, 407-348-7822 6.90 M
