I just want to say I'm new to the WISH board and want to lose weight. I'm 5'9 and weigh 169 pounds. Last New Year I made a commitment to continue to eat health and step up my exercise regemine as I was doing from the following year. Well in March 03 I found out I was pregnant with my second baby. Well all of my good eating habits went right out of the window, and on top of that I stopped exercising. Durning the time I got pregnant I was 140 lbs, a week before I delivered which was on December 4, 2003 I topped the scales off at 190, the heaviest I've ever been in my life. I now weigh five weeks later 169 and want to get to my goal weight of 135.
I've never been one to diet, but change my eating habits and mind set about the food I eat. Right now DH and I are finding it VERY hard to get motivated into exercising. Dropping the bad eatting habit that I'd adapted to during the past nine months is not bad, but getting off of my behind to exercise is what is troubleing me. Please help, I need to get back into my military uniform next month and I desperatly want to run the 1/2 marathon next year and I know I need to get into shape for that. I love to run and exercise, but need some motivation to get me going. Please help. I'm a great motivator to others who need it once I get my engines reving.
TIA

(5'4' and 150) OK! Maryland can be cold this time of year, so that means you need to get to a gym. That's hard to do with an infant. If you're shooting for a quick loss, try Atkins or South Beach. (unless you are breastfeeding, then I would discuss any diet with a Dr. first.) Put that baby in a stroller and go to the mall and walk. There must be no shortage of things you need for the baby, so when you are out and about, make sure you take 20 extra mins to walk. You will be back in the swing of things on no time. Just commit to every other day, and I mean commit. No excuses. Then when you've done it, of course, you'll feel better and want to do it again. And again, intil that 30 pounds melts off like butter. Just don't give up. I know it's hard not to be discouraged, and that is normal, but never give up. When you get in a slump, see it for what it is, and move through it! You can do this! You have done a lot that required self discipline and you are perfectly suited for this challenge! It's Monday. When will you start your engine and get moving? Post it here, and report back when you've done it and just see how much support and motivation you get!
