I am going to Universal for a week and so we thought because we have one extra day we could go to Sea World. I have NO IDEA ABOUT ANYTHING IN SEA WORLD!!!! HELP!!! I know there is Kraken which I will definetly go on because I am a big coaster fan. That's about it. Because I have only one day what should i definetly do or what should i skip? Thanks!

If you're going because you want to do attractions and possibly see a couple animals, don't do it. SeaWorld has Kraken (roller coaster), Journey to Atlantis (log flume type ride), and Wild Arctic (simulator ride). That's basicall it for rides.

On the other hand, if you're going because you know it's a marine animal park, and maybe go fit in a ride, go for it. There are some awesome marine animal type stuff to do. You can catch a show or two, feed and perhaps touch a dolphin, feed stingrays and sea lions.

If you decide to go, get there at opening and do Kraken & Atlantis first to avoid the lines. Some say do Wild Arctic early, too, but we went in the later afternoon and only waited 10 minutes.

Cheers!

Go early, parking lot opens at 08:30am.
Ride JTA and Kracken first thing.
At 10am, they feed the dolphins in the Key West area. You could go there, or to the first Clyde and Seamore show. First Blue Horizons show is at 11:15am, and it's worth seeing.
Arrive each show 30 minutes before it starts.
Don't ride the Wild Artic simulator, do the walk thru instead. It's one of those simulators that will make you sick.
Eat lunch early at 11:30am to avoid lines at all the food places. Voyagaers is a good place to go, it's near the sky tower. The deli next to the hospitality house is also good, and you can get some beer samples there.

Robvia, what do you mean "it will make you sick"? How bad is it? I'm used to the US/IOA simulators, except BTTF, is it on that scale?

If we just do the walkthrough, will we be missing out on the overall experience?

I agree with everything else, but the Wild Arctic simulator didn't bother DW and I at all. YMMV.

It's one of those simulators that tricks your brain into thinking you are moving, when you really are not. This can make some people sick, others are ok with it. Yes, it's like BTTF. If you do the walk thru, you see the exact same movie, but sit in stationary seats. The walk thru usually has a shorter line.

Don't forget the free beer! Oh, and don't eat the food--pack your own. The food is absoluely awful at seaworld except for the sandwiches at the hospitality house. We go there about once a month and have tried absolutely everything. Also, do Kracken about 30 minutes before closing and the wait will only be about 10 minutes.

You should go on the official SW website: seaworldorlando.com and look at all the listings for attractions/shows. Doing the rides early is good advice - before the lines get too long. Shows at SW are excellent. My favorites are Seymore/Clyde, Shamu (both the day and nite time shows) the new dolphin show is incredible. I guess you can tell, SW is one of my favoriet parks. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do. Take your time and enjoy walking around this park - it's just beautiful!!

I just got back from Universal. We went to Sea World for one day. It was ok. Just OK. I am a gigantic coaster fan and Kraken was great. I did it 6 times. Also did JTA. That was really fun as well. We saw Shamu and Blue Horizons. Shamu we had to see (its Shamu!), but it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Blue Horizons was fantastic and I got soaked (splash zone). We also went to the Wild Artic simulator. That was good. We went to the penguin and shark exibits and that was about it. I think the park is EXTREMELY OVERATED. It is a good park, theres just not enough to do. Also the park is very poorly laid out. The map is really confusing and the constant Anheiser Busch commercials were REALLY annoying. I enjoyed it, they just need a couple of more things to spruce up the park.

I wish they'd add another coaster too, but they only add new rides when attendance drops. Doesn't look like that will happen any time soon, because attendance at SWF has been good with visitors from the UK hearing about the park and adding 1 day to their Disney trip. That's why Busch added Sheikra to BGT, because attendance was falling. Now attendance at BGT is up. You would enjoy visiting BGT, even if it means driving the 75 miles over to Tampa.

Never been sick on the Arctic ride. Not sure about other poster's problem. Don't miss the Clyde and Seemore Sea Lion show. It is very tongue in cheek --- enjoy it for what it is. The last Sea Lion show of night is different from others and is the best. We were laughing hysterically. Don't forget to feed dolphins! We also like to feed sea lions. Don't waste time with Mystify, the night show. Go ride Kraken instead, or just leave. All the food is not bad in our opinion. We usually go for Barbeque from the Barbeque place. Seaworld is a never miss for us and my kids are 12 and 14.
