Ive flown a lot and normally Im not nervous about anything. But the cheapest flights (by a lot) are through O'Hare, and Ive never flown through there. Our layover is only 47 minutes....is this doable? :confused3 The last flight we had, it was though Dallas and the connection time was only 36 minutes and we were fine. But like I said, I have no idea about O'Hare. Any help would be appreciated :)

What airline? Where are you flying from?

What time of year is it? As someone who transfers in O'Hare quite a bit (about once or twice a week), the time of year definitely can matter.

The flight is out return flight, so I guess I should have said we would be flying out of MCO. Its on March 18. We get in at 5:08 and connect at 5:55 on a United Express flight back to Wichita.

Im not worried about our flight out of Wichita, we have a 2 hour lay over.

Yes. Winter is well, winter and Summer brings frequent thunderstorms. Another major problem for ORD is congestion. So, if you flying earlier in the day, that is always better. Things don't have a chance to back-up yet. You'll be flying an RJ from ICT to ORD. Most likely a mainline United flight to MCO. Sometimes the distance from RJ gates to main gates can be far (sometimes not). Just be ready for it. United is at terminal 1 and is basically made up of 2 main concourse buildings connected by an underground walkway with moving sidewalks. They also use a few gates at terminal 2 for domestic flights. Keep in mind that these concourses are very big and should you arrive at one of the far ends of concourse B and depart from the far end of concourse C, it will take you a while to get there. Don't worry too much about it. If everything is on time, you'll be fine. If you find things to be tight, ask the gate agent meeting your flight from ICT to call your departure gate and let them know your're running over. This way they will be expecting you and will not close the door on you. Also, this happens to me a lot. United at ORD does a lot of gate changes. Be sure to check again when you land at ORD. When you check in at ICT, your BP will have a gate on it. It may have changed 5 times by the time you land in ORD.

You should be fine, eventhough O'hare is huge, the one good thing about it is that all of United is in it's own terminal. We fly out of O'hare all the time, we use AA, and have never had any problems...now that I have said never, I am knocking on wood that I didn't jinx myself :lmao: I would also go on O'hare's website just so you can get a feel of the layout of the airport. Good luck.

its dirty and big but easy to navigate

It is big - but I haven't found it to be dirty.

If you had been on American and changing from an American to an American Eagle flight - I would be more concerned, because you change concourses.

United operates out of 3 different terminals at ORD

Thanks for all the advice. Our connecting flight is actually a United Express Flight, so I have to go from Terminal 1 to 2 to catch the flight. DH and I ran from International arrivals to a United Express flight in Houston...so I figure I can make that one, I can make this one. Im not going to stress about it, I guess. If we miss it, I will catch the next one. Thanks again!
