Taco braid is a big hit around here. Just had it last night, in fact.
Brown the meat & drain it. Then add seasonings, like for tacos. I don't use the packaged stuff, but it's fine, otherwise add some cumin, garlic, chile powder, etc. Add some water and let it simmer down, then add a can of refried beans. Then take a package of crescent rolls and roll them all out together in a big rectangle on a baking sheet. Cut 1 inch strips on each side about 1/3 of the way in. Put the meat mixture down the middle, top with some cheese and onions if you like, then braid the two strips over the meat. (I hope that makes sense). You just bring the two strips together and twist, then the next one kind of overlaps it, so it looks sort of like a braid. It sounds more complicated than it is. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or so.
