I have no idea on what to prepare for dinner tonight. I have 1 lb ground beef. Give me some inspiration please.

Hamburger Helper.....quick....easy....not very tasty, but still....:confused3

Or speghetti, or if you have a crock pot....throw some chilli together.

My mom made a dish for us on Sunday that was kind of like a shepard pie. It was ground beef with mushrooms, onions and gravy topped with mashed potatoes and then cheese. We just warmed it up in the oven. It was really tasty but didn't set well so it was better to serve in a bowl and looked a little like slop!!

I am making black bean burritos tonight with ground beef, corn, beans, cream cheese and other stuff. I'll serve it with homemade refried beans and cornbread.

Throw in some cream of mushroom soup and some mushrooms and put it over noodles. Fake stroganoff (sp?)

My kids love hamburger meat with gravy over mashed potatoes with corn or green beans on the side. This is one meal that is super easy and I can count on everyone of my kids eating it up.

We made mini burgers on potato rolls out of some ground beef for dinner last night. (I added worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt & pepper to the beef before making into patties)
They turned out great! They had grilled onions, bbq sauce, cheddar cheese, and lettuce as toppings. I baked some potato wedges to go along.

Dh and the kids gobbled them up.

Everything sounds yummy to me!

Another option, we like is ground up the meat and brown in, then add in Brown Gravey (or another that you like) then add in string beans or peas and then serve.

I usually add some parmesean grated cheese on top.

You can add anything else you like.

It is really quite yummy, quick and kinda healthy I think.

If you want to add tater tots on the side or something else you can.

Here is my recipe for Homemade Hamburger Helper:

Brown in a skillet:
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Add:
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 stalks chopped celery
1/2 cup frozen peas
1/2 cup fresh or canned tomatoes, chopped

While beef is browning, cook in salted water:
about 2 cups crinkly noodles

Drain noodles and spread over meat mixture. Sprinkle over all:
1/2-1 cup shredded cheddar (or your favorite) cheese

Simmer uncovered 15 minutes to blend flavors. Serve from skillet.

Cincinnati Chili!!!

Just buy a pack of Cincinnati Chili spice packet (about $1.50), a small can of tomato paste, some cheese, pasta, you already have the ground beef - and you're good to go (unless you like onions or beans).

Then if you buy a package of hot dogs, you can use the left over for coney dogs!

Oh, and don't forget the oyster crackers and hot sauce! :goodvibes

Is that Skyline or Goldstar? Which is better? DH is from the area and has only exposed me to Skyline, which is his preference! With the chili, OP, you have to have finely shredded cheddar!

Taco braid is a big hit around here. Just had it last night, in fact.

Brown the meat & drain it. Then add seasonings, like for tacos. I don't use the packaged stuff, but it's fine, otherwise add some cumin, garlic, chile powder, etc. Add some water and let it simmer down, then add a can of refried beans. Then take a package of crescent rolls and roll them all out together in a big rectangle on a baking sheet. Cut 1 inch strips on each side about 1/3 of the way in. Put the meat mixture down the middle, top with some cheese and onions if you like, then braid the two strips over the meat. (I hope that makes sense). You just bring the two strips together and twist, then the next one kind of overlaps it, so it looks sort of like a braid. It sounds more complicated than it is. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or so.
