Hi all!
I am taking my friend to DL in September (we are 16 and my mom is going also) the thing is my friend has never ever been to a theme park like DL or WDW... and this is sorta her b-day present.. and i want to surpise her big time.. like there is a Costco Package that includes the hoppers and a room at a DL hotel and like a $20.00 gift card for the park and a character breakfast... I was thinking that i would hand her the Gift card, and she'd be all like : Whats this for? and i would say like Pack your bags Naomi! Im taking you to DISNEYLAND!!

But i want something else to go along with it.. i need ideas:) Post or PM me Anything will do! :earsgirl:

What a great friend you are!!! I like that idea so far; could you arrange to get one of the Disney characters to call her with a birthday greeting when you "happen" to be there so you can hand her the package after to surprise her?

Here's the link for the phone calls; if you choose the "birthday greeting" option, there is a "taking a trip" option that comes up for the conversation, that would be really cool:

GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks:) Ill look into it:) im up for other ideas too!

Im still up for ideas! :) Thanks in advance!

That is one very lucky friend you have. That is so nice of you to introduce her to Disney. :thumbsup2

I noticed in your signature that you are looking for little hints to give your friend BEFORE you give her her gift.

Maybe you can go to Disney Store, Target, Walmart, Dollar store, etc. and pick up some Disney stuff. Maybe like a note pad, a Disney pen or pencil, a Disney Beach towel, Disney candy, etc. And then just give her these and since they are normal every day things they act as hints but they won't give away the surprise.

One other thing you could do is prepare a gift basket for when you gt to Disneyland. Since it is her first time maybe something like an Autograph book and pen, Disney candy or snacks, etc.

I will keep thinking of anything else that might work for you.

Good Luck and Happy Planning!

Phew! I was starting to think I may have to join the thread-killer club!!! :guilty: Another gentle bump for you :goodvibes

lol.. Those are great ideas Jax! Ill have to pick up a autograph book for her when i go in June... :) yay like a week left!! wahoo! lol

Does any one have a picture i could use as an iron on thingy and i could put in puffy paint on a tshirt something like: My First Disneyland Trip was with my best friend and like on the back September 2006... or any other catchy ideas.. lol :) Mucho Gracias! (that is the only other spanish words i know aside from Hola!)

If you are going to the park before you go with her, then why not take some pics where you could photoshop her into them, even if it looks cheesy, or just do a cutout of where she would stand and say something like "This will be you in X time".

Or you could just do a scrapbook of pics from your earlier trip and show them to her, and the last page could be a note saying "we're going on X date".

Then again, I also like the idea of just talking to her about it, telling her how cool it is, and she'd all be like "yeah, that sounds fun, I'd like to go" and you can be like "that's funny you say that, cause you and I are going on X date", but be casual about it, not too excited. She'll be like you're not serious, and you can be like yeah, I am, then pull out some of the things for her to show your serious. Then you can get all excited with her :teeth:

Hmmm...an online treasure hunt could be cool where she would end up at the DLR page as the "treasure".

If I think of anything else I'll let you know. Those are just a few ideas off the top of my head.

Also, since this is your friend's birthday prsent be sure to stop by Guest relations in Disneyland to get your friend a Birthday pin. From what I have been told the cast members look out for the pin and they will wish her happy birthday and possible go out of their way and do more.

I think they can also arrange a birthday call from Mickey which might be neat for your friend.

I did the Birthday Button in Feb when i turned 16, and i was Riding the train (We got on @ Tomorrowland and were heading to New Orleans Sq.) and we stopped @ Main Street Station... I was wearing a crown that was a gift from my dad that was bought in Fantasyland... and A CM saw the crown, then my Bday Button... She asked how to pronounce my name, and i said it... then she got on the train's Loud Speaker and this it what she said:
Hello Every one, We have a special Guest here on the train, her name is Juliette, and she is Celebrating her Sweet 16. Lets sing happy birthday to Juliette

I had like 200 ppl (on the train) Sing HAppy Birthday to me.. i was a little embarrased but i loved it:)

i had another guy sing Opera Style Happy Birthday (he sounded soo corny) in DCA that was embarrasing, i tried to walk away, but he just kept singing! and that was a CM!! lol
fun times
