I have a cat. 10 booked in October. Deck 1 is all that was left for cat 10's.
Should I spring for a cat 8 or 7 ?
The last cruise I had was a cat 6 with veranda.
Will I be disappointed with the 10?
It is a bit more expensive to move up, but I don't want to ruin the whole trip for a few more bucks.
any input?.......Dave....?

It is hard to say whether you will be able to make the "leap" from outside to inside without dissapointment. Personally, I think it would be easier on a three-day than a seven-day cruise, since the three-day goes by so fast that you are hardly in your stateroom. But on the seven-day, there is more time to relax and enjoy the verandah. If you do stick with an inside cabin, you can at least spend some time on the "secret" deck 7 aft verandah.
We often book Category 10 secret porthole rooms as a compromise between getting some sunlight and still paying an inside price (we have to afford all those cruises somehow!), but those have to be booked so far in advance. And I have been spoiled by the times when we've had a verandah, so I really miss it when we don't! But I'd rather be in an insie stateroom than not on the ship at all, and if you'd rather use the extra money for something else (like spa treatments, drinks, shore excursions, etc.), then go for the budgetary choice and hang out on the deck 7 verandah.

Why bump up to an 8? You'd enjoy a 9 almost as much. If you could get a 9 on Deck 2 (but not within one of the zones listed below), that's what I'd go for.

2036 - 2045

2078 - 2085

2088 - 2096

2114 - 2129

2139 - 2153

2500 - 2520

2534 - 2547

2586 - 2600

Also, on Deck 1, you might want to avoid 1030 - 1037.

Loved my cat 9 room..It was fabulous. I am sure i would have loved a cat 1-3 better, but i was not dissapointed in cat 9 at all. the port hole was bigger than i expected..we were in room 2646 and although it was fine, the engine must have been near us as it was loud...not so loud that you couldnt sleep but definitely annoying.....loved it

The cat 9's are all booked. If I make the upgrade, it would have to be an 8 or higher.
Hmmmmmmmmm, I wonder if The Walt Disney Suite is booked ?:D

my husband and I are very very compulsive. we pretty much booked a cruise for next without even really thinking about it..we had to cancel because as a newly married couple we had to have our prioirites in order...a cat 3 would be sooooo nice..oh well....ill stick with my cat 9.......
