I need help

If you haven't heard, there has been a serious decline in the bee population this season. Its been linked back to pesticides. If bees die, then plants that we eat die, cotten we wear dies, and our economy will fall, drastically.

So, now, why am I at the photography board asking for help? I'm a graphic artist, and I've been asked to make banners for a website thats being made to help the bees.

I use photographs to make my banners, but I can't find any really good pictures of bees that I can use. So I was wondering if any of you have any honey bee photographs that you're willing to let me manipulate into banners for this cause.

No one will be making any money from these pictures, so this is not for commercial use.

I've seen the photographs some people here take, and they're wonderful. I'm just hoping some of you are willing to let me use your photographs. I'm allergic to bees, so for my health, I can not get close to bees to take pictures of my own.

Just took four yesterday in our backyard. Hope they help. If you want higher resolution shots, let me know (that is if these will work....)

I don't have any really good bee photos. You're welcome to use the ones I have if you get desperate. I'd prefer to be uncredited if you do. The photos link to my smugmug site where you can get higher resolution copies.





Incidentally, from what I've read no one has conclusively established the cause of bee decline. The most common explanation that I've heard is disease spread by mites. I've heard that mites might be more common because bee keepers travel with their bees more because pollination pays better than staying home and making honey. I think it's a little earlier to put the blame on pesticides. Whatever the cause, the problem is definitely serious.

The second one is beautiful.

From what I've been hearing, organic bee farmers and bees in contact with organic farms (no pesticides) haven't been having any decline in population. I've heard a theory that states that pesticides have mutated the bees immune system and they are now more susceptible to bee diseases and parasites (mites).
