I am new to the photography board....I didn't know you guys were here! I would like to fix a photo (35 mm/not digital) by removing the background and adding clouds or flowers. I have the negative. I don't have photoshop. Can this be done? What is the best way to do it? Then I want to blow it up maybe
16x20 or so. Thanks, ~Barb~

Th first step is to get it digitized. It needs to be scanned. Someone else can probably give you tips on that. I do not do it much anymore. Then you need to edit out the background. With that much contrast, it should not be all that difficult. If you do not have a program already, then I suggest a program called The Gimp. It is completely free and can do many of the same things as PS. There are multiple versions for different operating systems.

Was this what you had in mind?

Mind you it was a low resolution picture to begin with. I didn't have any pictures of clouds at work so I grabbed the background from the web. Did this using Photoshop.

OMG this is so cool. I guess I need to get photoshop. Is it hard to learn?? Thank you so much for taking the time to do this...it is exactly what I was looking to do. ~Barb~
