Hi everyone!!! I am getting married Sept 2010 in Disney and I am reading mixed feedback on the photo part. I like to plan ahead like all us brides do lol. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? Go with an outside one or use the Disney one? I know the Disney one doesn't really give you a lot in the package which really bothers me but I don't want to miss out on the Disney pics in the background either. How does the Disney photographer work? Do they take you around MK and take pictures? I need some help...:)
Thanks so much!!

Are you having an Escape or WIshes? That would determine how many hours you need. The MK session is 1000 and is usually done the day after or a few days after the wedding, super early in the morning. :goodvibes

I would say that your best bet would be to look at some samples of photographers work and see what style you like the best. I know there is a site for Disney Photographers (although you can't guarantee that you will get the one you want). Some of the more popular photographers that people use are

Randy Chapman www.chapmanphotography.com
Missy Miotto www.mistymiotto.com
The Roots www.rootogaphy.com (I think)

(girls, you can add some if I forgot any- and I know someone here has the Disney link )

Hi there. I am having the Wishes Wedding package. Thank you so much for those links. I am going to go on them and call and get some prices. :)

I'm getting married in Sept 2010 too. I have to use Disney Photo becasue my wedding will be inside the parks. I had my consultant forward me the package information. It's priced for this year, but I get a rough estimate

right now we're looking at spending close to 6k just in photography...8 hours photo, MK, Epcot Bridal Portriat, no albums, +high res dvd, and a 2nd photographer for the ceremony.

We're thinking about adding Studios (depending on Hat construction) and/or Animal Kingdom.

If you're having your wedding outside of the parks, I highly recommend going with an outside vendor. Disney is overpriced and isn't always great. If our location wasn't inside the parks we'd be booking roots, but *fingers crossed* they change the rule back.

Bridal Portiats can be booked even if you use an outside photographer for your wedding day. It's $1000 for just mk or $1300 for mk and epcot.

I agree with Characterfan about the roots - they are great!

The biggest problem with DPS is that the work is inconsistant. Some people get really fabulous photos and I have also seen some really horrible ones. I too am keeping my fingers crossed that they change the rule.

Just out of curiousity does anyone have the web address for the DPS site. I tried for a while yesterday and coudn't find it.
