We are going this week to put our order in for a new travel trailer. I need some information on what options and upgrades to work into the deal. We are going from an Motorhome to a TT, so this is new to us. If anyone has any information on what is a MUST, please let me know.

I would add sway control for your TV. See if your dealer has a parts & accessories book you and your wife look it over and get everything you want and need have the dealer add it to the loan no need put 1000’s of $ on credit cards for these items. I have read your other post it seem you go to FW a lot get a built in icemaker it will pay for itself in the long run. Good luck with your new TT.

I really like our gas/electric hot water heater! It saves us on gas when we are hooked up! :)

I agree with the gas & elec hot water heater if you run them both @ the same time in the morning when showers are taken we never run out of hot water. I like to upgrade the A/C but we have a large unit, I think that with the upgrade the A/C won't work as hard. Also we like the larger fridge,we carry a lot of food when we leave home as we buy whole steers for beef and do not like supermarket beef.

When we bought our new trailer, we had the dealer throw in a few extras.
The trailer was already loaded so that wasnt a issue.
We had then throw in
-Weight distrubution syatem (ours is husky)
-anti sway system (husky again)
-brake controler
-7 pin wiring harness.
-hydro-flush elbow
-50 ft extension cord. 30 amp (thats what our trailer is.)

The one thing I didn't ask for is to exchange the RVQ (which we found useless) for a 3 burner outside stove top. I did purchase one after and i'm glad I did. When it's hot out there's nothing worse than steaming up the nice cool a/c inside. We also like to cook outside.
If you get a duo-therm a/c unit in yours with the optional heat. Get them to throw in the heating element. It's great to take the dampness out of things and on the cooler nights it helps save on using propane to heat.

I would add MaxxAir vent covers have them install by dealer. also get a Fan-tastic fan for the saftey of your dog if there is a power failure it runs on house battery and comes with a thermostat.

I was looking at the accessories book and saw the satellite auto finder system should I add this to order? I have talk to people at FW with them but still can’t get service because all if the tree. I have want I call satellite on a stick so should I upgrade or just keep want I have?

We added extra insulation for the roof..reducing the noise on the roof. Makes big difference. We didn't think twice about it as the dealer recommended it..and it wasn't that huge of a price increase. We do know other campers who don't have it..and it's pretty noisey in there rigs when it rains. Since we do also seasonal camp..we spend quite a bit of time in our trailer, so I'm glad we went with this option. Would do it again.

Hello. If you go to www.rv.net you find all the information that you ever wanted to know about rving. There is a whole forum on Travel Trailers.

On the Sat dish , I wouldnt waste the money on it for a TT . Its meant more for keeping a signal while moveing . And as you said , your out of luck if you park under trees . Keep it on a pole so you can move it to get a signal .

We had our MaxxAir vents installed too!

The Fan-tastic fan is a good idea!

We also had an awning installed on our slide room. I am really glad we did every time we pull it in and all the crap falls off!

Wife told me to tell you order a premium or luxury mattress the factory installed one suck you and your back will love you.

I agree with RV.net or OpenRoads forum. We've had four RVs counting the first pop up and here is what I think are nice to haves.

*#1 must have for a travel trailer - Equal-i-zer BRAND hitch to nearly eliminate sway. It is FAR superior to basic friction antisway. This can be ordered separate from the trailer. A Hensely hitch would be even better but usually overkill for its very high price.
*The larger capacity water heater with electric
*Tinted windows, especially in Fla.
*50 amp service if an option
*Fantastic fan with thermostat
*Enclosed underbelly (but you may not need that so much in Fla)
*Convection microwave
*Upgraded digital thermostat (but you can do this yourself cheap, RV.net will tell you how)
*Black tank flush kit pre-installed
