Three adults, so regular sized veranda room, not family.
I would like decks 6,7 or 8, starboard side.
Something between the forward and midship elevators, but could be a bit passed the forward elevators.

What categories am I looking at? The colors of the guide that I am looking at are confusing to me.

Thank you.
Bobbi :boat:

Those would be 5D (deck 6), 5C (deck 7) or 5D (deck 8). 5A’s are on decks 9 and 10

Those three categories cover staterooms from forward to midship on both sides, and also about 20 staterooms per deck located just in front of the aft elevators.

If you are looking online and only seeing port-side staterooms, it might be because the system only shows the first 8 available staterooms in your selected category, starting with the lowest-numbered staterooms. If you really want a starboard-side stateroom and can’t get one to show up online, you need to call DCL.

Depending on the familial relationship of the 3 adults, I would recommend the Family veranda that way you have the split bathroom. It's really not much more money and you get a larger room. If you have main dining then you are going to have all 3 of you needing to go to the bathroom and take a shower at the same time, especially getting back from Castaway Cay. That split bathroom is really useful on CC day when you get back from CC at approx 4:30pm and you got to be at dinner by 5:45pm. Also, the Family Veranda shower is the big round one where the water comes out of the ceiling instead of the little showers in the regular rooms with the regular shower nozzles. If your tall, you're going to like the showers way better in the Family Veranda rooms. Just saying from category 04A experience.

All the rooms outside of the cat 11 inside rooms have split bathrooms.

Yes, but thought the OP would want a veranda room since they were asking about veranda rooms. I personally would not recommend a switch from a veranda to an inside stateroom just for a split bathroom.

Again, there are no verandah rooms without a split bathroom, whatever the category.

Hi! The reason I am asking is because we will be going on the DVC Member Cruise, and they want categories, not room numbers.

One adult is my DSis, and we have shared the queen bed, and that is fine. Our friend gets the bed that’s the sofa. We have sailed together on DCL before.

Thank you all. I will be looking over the answers soon.

Edit: All these cruises are starting to run together. I may be confusing split with the larger round one.

As far as categories we prefer 04A starboard on Dream class ships. It's mid ship, so you're half way to everything and close to elevators. It's not deck 10 so you do not have pool chair noise above you. It's high up on deck 9 when looking off your balcony while at sea or ports. When starboard you have a good view of Castaway Cay and not the cement dock when the ship is ported there. You have the larger bathrooms and larger room than just a regular non-family veranda. It's a little more expensive but on some of our 7 nighters it's only been like $300 more which is negligible when you spending so much on a vacation. Also, many people claim mid-ship is less ship motion.

this is good to know. So a regular ocean view verandah room has the regular shower? But the family verandah has the split? Is that for all ships in the dream and fantasy class?

I've only been on Magic 3 times and Wonder once so I'm really not familiar with the classic ships. The Dream class all verandas are split bathroom.

The Deluxe Family Veranda room in the dream class has this big round shower thing. That's about the best I can describe it but to me it is so much more room. In the regular veranda room the shower nozzle only comes to your chest and it's super small. The best way I can describe it is that the big round shower in the Family veranda can hold more than one person and you can have the water shower down from the ceiling so height doesn't matter. Also the room is a little bigger so in some of the rooms there are differences in the length of the vanity thing that is in the living room area.

I refer to them as Stand Up Circular Rainforest showers and yes, they are literally the greatest thing in any of the rooms on any of the ships. They are only found in the Family Categories for Oceanview and Verandah rooms I cant remember what the categories are exactly. I think its all the 4's in the Verandah's except 4E

All non-handicapped verandah rooms on All ships are split bathrooms.

And the family verandah rooms are longer, as they have the extra space (the width of the Murphy bed). Hence, longer counter in the cabin (not the bathroom).
