Hello! I posted this to my PTR but haven't gotten much feedback so hoping more people will see it here!

A MAJOR part of our trips is the food at WDW. We usually like to do 2 meals a day. Breakfast/early Lunch and Dinner.

You would think having had booked at least part of this trip in November that I would have ADR's all scheduled... Yeah no.. I haven't been that organized... This is why I need everyone's help!

This is what my prelimnary list of restaurants looks like!
ry%3D400

Might be a bit hard to see so I will retype it out along with a bit more info on why its on the list. From here I need help on deciding which restaurants to eliminate!

California Grill x2 This is a favorite of ours and so it must make an appearance twice during the trip!
Citrico's x2. Same as Cali Grill!
Flying Fish - I've been 3x and Hunter 2x. The last time was really good so it makes the list again
Il Mulino - We've loved the food samples from here as part of the F&W Classic so its on the list
Le Cellier - We had a great meal here last October and so it makes the list again
Monsieur Paul - We have only eaten here as part of a French Regional Lunch which was spectacular so would love to give it a try for a Dinner
Shula's - Have heard great reviews. Never been
V&A's - We've eaten here once at the Chef's Table. this would be the regular dining room experience - the down side.. having DH pack a suit!
Hoop de Doo Review - This is a must as it is a favorite!
50's Prime Time - Been a few times. Love the fried chicken!
Chef's de France - Also been a few times and the meals have been good but not spectacular.. not a must
Liberty Tree Tavern - Have been 3x and enjoyed it all 3 times. Best sit-down in MK in my opinion
Mama Melrose - We haven't been since our very first trip but my DH loved it so its on the list
Raglan Road - Wonderful food. I want us to try it for dinner for the entertainment
Whispering Canyon Cafe - Decent Food in a Fun atmosphere!
Boma - We've never been but it gets rave reviews... so breakfast or dinner?!?
Bongos – Never been so its on the list.. any opinions?
Grand Floridian Café - Never been, unsure which meal to choose
Kouzzina – I’ve been for breakfast once, Hunter has never been
Mickey’s Backyard BBQ – never been, any opinions?
Paradiso 37 – Never been, thought it might be a place to try
The Plaza – been once, was good, not a must do but a MK option
San Angel Inn – Been once, it wasn’t great, thinking of giving it another try
Sanaa – never been but reviews are great. I’m not a Spicy food fan so it scares me a bit!
Trail’s End – Never been, good reviews.. breakfast or lunch?!?
Tusker House – I love the breakfast here. Hunter not so much.. Give lunch or Dinner a try or give it a pass?
Via Napoli – LOVE the Pizza and Sangria.. Hunter hates that he doesn’t have much appetizer choices due to a seafood allergy
The Wave – I’ve been once, thinking of bring Hunter
Yak & Yeti – Good, nothing super special, have been several times

I color coded them GREEN means its a must, BLUE means its almost a definite, ORANGE means I'm undecided, convince me one way or another!

So.. are there any on the above list that you would definitely do? Defineitly NOT do??

Please feel free to share your opinions! I really should get some ADR’s made!!

Also if I have missed anything that is a favorite of yours please let me know!!

I love reading your reviews so for my sake I would love to hear your take on Trails Ends breakfast. Also Ragland Road thinking about this for our next trip.

Ok I personally would make Via Napoli a must, we love the food there, but we stay on the Epcot area resorts so tend to eat near where we stay. I would choose Shula's over Le Cellier. We have done both and prefer Shula's. We have never tried Il Mulino, but it's on my list.
Raglan Road, I personally wasn't impressed. I would go at night for a drink and enjoy the entertainment.
We are considering California Grill twice also, although some of the recent reviews are making me reconsider. I might do Artist Point a night instead of CG twice.
Liberty Tree is a favorite of ours for lunch also, although we loved lunch at Be Our Guest, so if you haven't tried that I would.

If you are doing Hoop Dee Doo, which I agree is a must, I'd skip Mickey's backyard bbq. I've never been, but its dependant on weather and though I love "The Fort" it can be a pain to get in and around. We love Trail's End dinner, but haven't tried it for any other meal.
We personally love Paradiso 37, so give that one a shot!
We also love LTT in MK and agree its the best table service there! We enjoy Mama Melrose as I don't really think HS has a lot of great food options.
Sounds fun - ENJOY!

I also enjoy reading your reviews after your trips and I am interested to see peoples opinions. I am still working on where we will eat in August.
We did Tuskerhouse last year for breakfast and I also wasn't thrilled but we are going to give it another go I think we are going to try it around brunch time though so we can can get maybe a little breakfast and a little lunch, we did San Angel Inn for dinner and are doing it again this trip really enjoyed the food and service, also love Via Napoli, I was also looking at Grand Floridian Cafe thinking about breakfast... Can't wait to see what others have to say.

First off I love the way you eat!

I have a few questions:
1. I assume you are on a dining plan...which one?
2. Where are you staying? Just for proximity purposes.

First...assuming you are on a DDP, Il Muliano and Shulas do not accept DDP. While these are generally two of the highest rated restaurants and are certainly worth your time please keep that in mind.

As far as your selections.
1. When was the last time you were at CG? I was just there in December (obviously post refurb) and found it to be fair. It really changed and unfortunately IMO not for the better. I would consider Narcoossees over CG (especially more than once). I would suggest trying it once and having Narcoossees the other night. Artist Point is also another great spot to try.
2. Citrocos has been getting mixed reviews as well...haven't tried it lately so I wasn't concerned with that.
3. Flying Fish: I was there in December and had a fair meal there as well. Wouldn't toss this one just yet but if I were you I would search recent reviews on the board.
4. Your remaining Orange selections:
Keep: SAI, Plaza, Sanaa, Y&Y. Something to consider: Tutto Italia. One of the best meals I have had at EC hands down. It is a must for our family every time. Also, Teppan Edo is a fun hibachi style restaurant with good food.

Hope this helps!

Thank you everyone for your input! Please keep the advice coming!

I love reading your reviews so for my sake I would love to hear your take on Trails Ends breakfast. Also Ragland Road thinking about this for our next trip.

Thank you. I will try to fit them in. My husband isn't much of a fan of breakfast but maybe I will just leave him sleeping and sneak over there one day!

We are staying at POR for 4 nights and then WL/VWL the rest of the time. WE will be there for 2 weeks.
Via Napoli is a must for me but not for my husband. He likes to have an appetizer and due to his seafood allergy most are eliminated.
We really enjoyed Le Cellier this past October so was actually thinking of doing both since we are there for 2 weeks.
The night entertainment is actually why Raglan Road is on the list. We have been for lunch several times and I want to see the show!
We have been to CA Grill 3x since the renovation. All 3 times the food has been fabulous. Our service was awful one time and the other 2 it was good. This is a definite for 2 visits from us! Artist Point has been a miss for us. The first time it was okay but the second time we went we weren't happy and the third time I went (was solo) everything was overly salty. I am very sad about that as it is in our resort so would be so convenient!
Most of the reviews I've heard about BOG have been split so I am going to wait on that one.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I was thinking also that the BBQ would probably be something to skip. Especially with no kids!
I haven't been to Trail's End at all so am eager to try and fit it in.
Thanks for the confidence in Paradiso 37!
I hope to enjoy! thank you!

Thanks for your input! TH I Love. My husband doesn't lol. I was thinking of doing the same.. more of a Brunch.. we shall see if htere is any open space! I'm happy to hear San Angel Inn was good for you. I'm thinking we will give it a shot! I love the Pizza at Via Napoli! I need to ask my DH if he is ok going again!

1/ No Dining Plan. We use Tables in Wonderland
2. the first 4 nights are at POR, the other 10 are VWL/WL

1. We were last at DG in December and 2 times in October. It is our favorite restaurant on property. Service has been our issue but the food has been great. My husband is allergic to seafood or I would certainly book Narcossee's..
2. I agree that Citrico's can be So-So but we usually have an overall good experience. I am considering just doing it once. We will see!
3. We were also at FF in December and it was a pretty good meal! My fish was a bit overcooked but my steak and my husbands Pork were both fabulous!
4. Thanks! I am really thinking about doing SAI. We didn't enjoy it in 2009 but its been 5 years! Sanaa sounds good. I'm debating between that and Boma. Everyone seems to love both! Tutto Italia... well if we do Mama Melrose and Il Mulino than that is already 2 Italian Places so I'm not sure about adding more!

You should be fine then with your choices considering TIW.

I like SAI for a lunch not dinner...just to clarify. Also, I would consider Tutto over Mama...I thought the food was night and day better.

Have fun!

I'll just focus on some of the places I've been that you're undecided about :)

Mama Melrose's - I like it here. It may be cheesy, but I'm a fan of sparkly twinkle lights, which are strung up over the restaurant. I had the penne alla vokda my first time and loved it so much I've had it every time since. Is it the most authentic place? Probably not, but it's still enjoyable, I think.

Grand Floridian Café - I've only had breakfast here, but I thought the vanilla french toast was really good.

Paradiso 37 – I went here for the first time last month, popped in for a late lunch without an ADR. It wasn't busy at all. The service was good, and I enjoyed my food and the decor.

The Plaza – Always a solid option. Not fancy but delicious, and doesn't take a lot of time out of the day.

Sanaa – I can assure you, I have like the lowest spice tolerance in the world, and Sanaa is my favorite Disney restaurant so far. Definitely go here!

Trail’s End – I've only been here for dinner, but it was good.

GF Cafe - go. It surprised us. We went for lunch, but breakfast also seemed yummy.

Boma - I have heard this breakfast is similar to TH. I will suggest dinner for that reason.

SAI - love it. Having my bday dinner here in 2 weeks! The tortilla soup and passion fruit margarita :worship:

We are just like you!! Food is a huge part of our trips. California Grill was always our favorite. It was closed when we were there last August, but it will be on our list twice as well. We also love Le Cellier!! It's one of our must-do's.

We have eaten at Il Mulino 3x, I believe, and our meals have always been very good there. Not sure it will be on our list this year because we are cutting back from 15 days to 10.

We have eaten at Chefs de France several times too. It was my DD's best friend's favorite meal last year. Not sure about it making the list this year either.

We didn't really like Boma for dinner. We love it for breakfast. I would suggest Jiko instead. It is a must for us as well. Last year we tried Sanaa for the first time for lunch, and we will definitely be back this year. We might give it a try for dinner though.

We have eaten at Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast and lunch. I liked it more than my DH did, but it was a nice break from the park. We might give The Wave a try for lunch this year.

San Angel Inn is a favorite of our's also. We always kick our trip off there for lunch. It just wouldn't be the same without it. Our meals the last couple of years have been the best we have gotten there. I would give it a try.

We always eat at Yak & Yeti also. There just aren't that many options that appeal to us at AK. Our meals have always been pretty good there too.

We ate at The Plaza last year for the first time, and we really enjoyed our sandwiches there. It is definitely a place we would go back to for a quick bite to eat.

We ate at Shula's years ago. From what I remember, we enjoyed our meal there too. I think it a place we would like to go back to and give it another try.

We ate at Mama Melrose last year. We wanted to give it another try since we hadn't been there in several years. It was ok. Not the best meal ever. Our favorite at HS is Brown Derby. We never miss eating there either.

We LOVE Raglan Road. On previous trips we have eaten here twice as well. May not have enough time this year to squeeze two visits in. We have eaten here for lunch and dinner. I would devinitely go for the entertainment at dinner. It's so much fun!!

Via Napoli is one that we have to eat at too. Hopefully you'll be able to convince your DH to go. If we want to get away from the park for a while, we'll just head over and eat at Flying Fish then. Sometimes it's the only time I can fit it in though and it's a place that we will try to visit too. I love their potato wraped snapper!!

It sounds like you have a list of some really great places to eat at. We also enjoy eating at Citrico's, Narcoossee's, Bluezoo, Captain's Grille for lunch. I don't know how we're going to fit it all in this year. Enjoy your trip!!

I like SAI for a lunch not dinner...just to clarify. Also, I would consider Tutto over Mama...I thought the food was night and day better.

Yes it would definitely be SAI for lunch.. too many restaurants only serve dinner that we like so if we can get some of them for lunch I go for it!

I will consider Tutto Gusto. I'm really not that big a Pasta eater and would like to try Il Mulino so may just stick with the one Italian restaurant. Plus pizza at Via Napoli lol.

I'll just focus on some of the places I've been that you're undecided about :)

Mama Melrose's - I like it here. It may be cheesy, but I'm a fan of sparkly twinkle lights, which are strung up over the restaurant. We went here on our 5year anniversary trip and my husband had a great meal so that is why I am thinking about it...

Grand Floridian Café - I've only had breakfast here, but I thought the vanilla french toast was really good.

My husband isn't much of a breakfast person but he said I could book a couple so this might be one of them

Paradiso 37 – I went here for the first time last month, popped in for a late lunch without an ADR. It wasn't busy at all. The service was good, and I enjoyed my food and the decor.

I'm thinking of doing this for lunch our first day... I know it sounds weird not doing the parks our first day but we arrive after 1am so a relaxing day is usually best to start!

The Plaza – Always a solid option. Not fancy but delicious, and doesn't take a lot of time out of the day.

Still out for consideration...

Sanaa – I can assure you, I have like the lowest spice tolerance in the world, and Sanaa is my favorite Disney restaurant so far. Definitely go here!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I've heard fabulous things! Still deciding between this and Boma.. Not sure I want to trek out to AKL twice...

Trail’s End – I've only been here for dinner, but it was good.

We would probably go for lunch and maybe breakfast

GF Cafe - go. It surprised us. We went for lunch, but breakfast also seemed yummy.

Thanks for the vote! I'm trying to fit it in!

Boma - I have heard this breakfast is similar to TH. I will suggest dinner for that reason.

Thanks! I would be going with another couple so need to see which they would prefer!

SAI - love it. Having my bday dinner here in 2 weeks! The tortilla soup and passion fruit margarita :worship:

I'm not a tequila fan but considering giving lunch another shot!

We are just like you!! Food is a huge part of our trips. California Grill was always our favorite. It was closed when we were there last August, but it will be on our list twice as well. We also love Le Cellier!! It's one of our must-do's.

Both are on the list.. I'm just not sure we have room for CA grill twice! I think we need to make it work though! I just need to find a spot for Le Cellier lunch where dinner won't be a heavy meal as well!

We have eaten at Il Mulino 3x, I believe, and our meals have always been very good there. Not sure it will be on our list this year because we are cutting back from 15 days to 10.

This is one of our longer trips but still doesn't seem to be enough room! :lmao:

We have eaten at Chefs de France several times too. It was my DD's best friend's favorite meal last year. Not sure about it making the list this year either.

We love French food.. I think if we go we will definitely share a meal here but it will probably make the line-up somewhere!

We didn't really like Boma for dinner. We love it for breakfast. I would suggest Jiko instead. It is a must for us as well. Last year we tried Sanaa for the first time for lunch, and we will definitely be back this year. We might give it a try for dinner though.

Why didn't you like Boma for dinner? Jiko is out. My husband and I had a BAD meal in '09 and he refuses to give it another try. Does Sanaa have a different menu for lunch and dinner? For some reason I thought they were the same

We have eaten at Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast and lunch. I liked it more than my DH did, but it was a nice break from the park. We might give The Wave a try for lunch this year.

I had the Wave for lunch when I was solo. It was good. Nothing totally memorable though! :confused3 GFC is always on my planning board but never makes the cut! Maybe this time!

San Angel Inn is a favorite of our's also. We always kick our trip off there for lunch. It just wouldn't be the same without it. Our meals the last couple of years have been the best we have gotten there. I would give it a try.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure this one is going to make the line-up!

We always eat at Yak & Yeti also. There just aren't that many options that appeal to us at AK. Our meals have always been pretty good there too.

I'm thinking we may just go to Boma for a late Brunch or head to another area for lunch.. Either that or just CS at Flame Tree...

We ate at The Plaza last year for the first time, and we really enjoyed our sandwiches there. It is definitely a place we would go back to for a quick bite to eat.

We enjoyed it when we went. It's a reliable meal!

We ate at Shula's years ago. From what I remember, we enjoyed our meal there too. I think it a place we would like to go back to and give it another try.

A friend I am meeting up with said its a must so we will definitely be doing this one!

We ate at Mama Melrose last year. We wanted to give it another try since we hadn't been there in several years. It was ok. Not the best meal ever. Our favorite at HS is Brown Derby. We never miss eating there either.

Both my friend and I have both had terrible service issues at HBD. I loved the food but service can make such an impact too.

We LOVE Raglan Road. On previous trips we have eaten here twice as well. May not have enough time this year to squeeze two visits in. We have eaten here for lunch and dinner. I would devinitely go for the entertainment at dinner. It's so much fun!!

Planning it for our first night! Our first day is going to be a relaxing day in DTD :rotfl2:

Via Napoli is one that we have to eat at too. Hopefully you'll be able to convince your DH to go. If we want to get away from the park for a while, we'll just head over and eat at Flying Fish then. Sometimes it's the only time I can fit it in though and it's a place that we will try to visit too. I love their potato wraped snapper!!

I'm pretty sure I can convince him.. We will just have Sangria and Pizza!

It sounds like you have a list of some really great places to eat at. We also enjoy eating at Citrico's, Narcoossee's, Bluezoo, Captain's Grille for lunch. I don't know how we're going to fit it all in this year. Enjoy your trip!!

The fitting everything in is certainly a challenge! Narcoossee's and Bluezoo are not on the list because of the predominance of seafood. Hoping to maybe get to Narcoossee's for dessert at the bar though! The Captain's Grill lunch menu has never had much appeal.. What have you liked there?

Actually, if you are considering Captain's Grille, I will suggest breakfast. The dark chocolate waffles with cherry compote are delicious! The lemon ricotta pancakes and lobster omelette were also hits with my extended family. It was our favorite on property breakfast yet!

It has been about 4 years since we have eaten at Boma. None of us really like it. I believe it was some of the flavors that we didn't like. We just never wanted to go back. It looks like there are a few things that are different on the Sanaa dinner menu. My DH is the one that wanted to try it for dinner instead of lunch. There is a steak on the dinner menu and a lamb dinner. I could just go there for the bread service and tomato soup. They are delicious!!

We might have to give The Wave another thought. There are so many other places to try.

My DD loves the fish & chips at Captain's Grille. My DH and I both order the Angus Chuck Burger with the lump crabmeat. Oh my!! It is so good. I hope we have time to fit it in.

Narcoossee's has one of the best desserts in my opinion, and my DD too!! This may be the year to give Shula's a try again.

Have you ever been to Yachtsman's Steakhouse? That is one we have never tried. It is nice to always fit a few new ones in.

We will probably pass on Captain's Grill this time. With staying at WL for most of our trip it would be quite a trek there in the morning without a rental car. If we ever stay near there I will definitely keep it in mind!

Boma and Sanaa are still up for debate! They might be up until we are actually there lol :rotfl2: Yes I agree Narcoossee's actually has good dessert! (many Disney restaurants I do not care for it!)

Captain's Grill sounds good but it may have to be for another visit

We have tried Yachtsman.. 3 times now.. the last time the food was good but service was SLOW (we were a large group but it took an hour just to place our orders!)

Have you been 'Ohana it's one of our favorites! It's a MUST do every year! We have done both breakfast and dinner. I love the dinner!

Funny you should mention that.... I had never booked 'Ohana before because I didn't think my DH would enjoy it... Then this week he ups and says I think we should try it! :rotfl: So yes.. That has been added to the dining rotation!
