I can make ADRs next week, and I would like to choose one table service meal for our trip. Last time we ate lunch at Sci-Fi and loved it. My kids aren't into characters at all, so I don't really want a character meal. My kids are happy with chicken nuggets anywhere, but I would like someplace with great atmosphere and good food. If you could only choose one table service/buffet meal for your family, what would it be?

BTW, my kids HATED Rainforest Cafe in Vegas, so I think that RF and T-Rex are out.

You can never go wrong with the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. Very family friendly, decently diverse menu with something for everyone, and a great atmosphere.

It is also a quick escape from a busy Magic Kingdom for a nice lunch!

One choice, boy that is tough. Here are our favorites in each park depending on where you will be booking this one ts.

Magic Kingdom- nowhere, book Ohana at the Poly- awesome atmosphere, fabulous food, lots of fun for the kids. Our favorite overall.

Epcot- Beirgarten- great atmosphere again- oompa band, great food.

AK- skip it, no TS dining worthwhile unless you go to Tusker House for breakfast.

HS- skip it too, you have already done Sci Fi. The only other "decent" one is 50's PTC. Good atmosphere, can be fun or terrible, decent food.

At resorts: Whispering Canyon Cafe at WLL or California Grill at Contemporay.

Our favorite is Tusker House for bkfst (is character though)
Otherwise- Ohana's at Poly or Whispering Canyon Cafe...
If looking for 'nicer' resturant LeCellier or Cali Grill

... for each park:

Magic Kingdom: Crystal Palace for breakfast (character meal)

Epcot: LeCellier for dinner

Hollywood Studios: Hollywood Brown Derby

Animal Kingdom: Tusker House for breakfast (character meal)

Downtown Disney: T-Rex

As you can see some of our choices do not match your criteria. So here's an alternative to each of those:

Magic Kingdom: Take the monorail to the Polynesian and try Ohana. Keep in mind it is a character meal for breakfast, so try dinner instead. Alternatively take the monorail to the Contemporary resort and go to California Grill.

Epcot: If you want to stay in the parks, LeCellier for steaks or Coral Reef for seafood.

Hollywood Studios: In you want to stay in the parks, Brown Derby or Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre

Animal Kingdom: Take the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge and visit Boma. It was an excellent meal! If you would rather stay in the park try Yak & Yeti.

Downtown Disney: Wofgang Puck for an alternative to T-Rex or RF Cafe.

Another vote for Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge...lots of fun for dinner and the food is not bad.

50's Diner at Studios can be fun...the food varies, I'd go for dinner rather than lunch.

O'Hana at Poly is really a big hit...always fun...

Those are my picks! They are the most fun restaurants I've been to, if you are not interested in the character meals. Your server can make any meal special though, I've had outstanding and fun service at California Grill, Artist Point, Narcoosees, The Plaza restaurant in the Magic Kingdom, Brown Derby at Studios...You can probably tell that I love dining while at Disney! Have a great trip!

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! I've been reading the menus and talking them over with DH. He has decided that this trip won't be as tight a budget as we planned! We may be able to work in 3-4 T/S meals over 10 days.

My husband has always dreamed of a huge ice cream like the Kitchen Sink from Beaches & Cream. We live in a small town and don't have an ice cream parlor, so we're doing ice cream for lunch one day!

I am also going to book ADRs for Kona for breakfast and Biergarten for lunch. I'm thinking about CP for breakfast to experience Main Street mostly empty. I'm also thinking about Whispering Canyons on our arrival night.

If your group likes their ice cream may I suggest the PLAZA resturant in MK? They have good sandwiches but the milkshakes &/or icecream desserts are WONDERFUL!!!!!

And the themeing is very quaint - minimicing early 1900's. Pleasant, not as expensive as your average TS & located conveniently inside MK :thumbsup2
