I need help...1st time at California Adventure!

So I've been to DLR twice now, most recently in October right before Halloween. Now I am going back to California with my dad and 13 year old brother and we are doing both parks, but I have only been to the original Disneyland.

I've heard about the Aladdin show, and was wondering the best way to see that. Do you need reserved seating? How early should you get there?

Should I make a reservation for lunch or dinner? What are the best places to eat?

My dad said he'll only take us if we have a plan. I pretty much know what I want to do in DLR, but have no idea about California Adventure. If anyone has any recommended touring plans, tips, or other advice - PLEASE share! I leave on Tuesday and we'll be doing the parks on the 30th.

To be honest, we had no probs getting in. Our only problem was our ressie was really far away & we had to leave early to make it. In FACT, the Aladdin show was just filler before getting to the ressie.

It was January & relatively quiet - as far as lines go. We found out about it late, ran to make it, sat at the top so we could leave w/o disrupting others & then left about 1/2 way through. So essentially, we had no wait bc everyone else was already seated - show hadn't started tho.

I'd figure out close restaurants you're interested in & plan from there.

There is no reserved seating for Aladdin, but there is VIP seating for some & they will enter the theatre & pick their seats before everyone else who are waiting in line. For me, to guarentee a good spot would be to get in line 30 min. before the show in the orchestra level. Ppl like to show up early & even though there is a "line" that you have to stand in, once you go in the theatre, it's a 1st come 1st serve when it comes to seating. But if you don't mind being a little higher, the front part of the mezzanine is good too.

When it comes to lunch, there are a lot of good counter service places to eat; it just depends what you feel like eating. Pacific Warf Cafe has good soup bread bowls & sandwiches, Cocina Cucamonga has good Mexican food, Lucky Fortune Cookery has decent Asian American food, & Pizza Oom Mow Mow has good pizza & pasta. But if you want to go to a sit down restaurant, they do have Wine Country Trattoria, but for me, they don't have that much of a variety of food. Since the GCH is right next door, I like to walk over to Storyteller's Cafe to have a nice dinner where I can relax & they have more than just lasagna, sandwiches, & salads. My fave is their buffet!

Yea, I definitely recommend getting there at least 30 minutes before the show. DLR is super crowded right now so it would be a good idea to get there a little early to ensure that you get a spot. I think it is a really good show...hope you enjoy!
