I need food storage advice!

A grocery store here is having a sale on Grans biscuits 12 big cans for 2.00! Thats like buy 2 and get 10 free. I want to stock up on them because dh loves them so much.

I know that you can't freeze them in the can but can I take them out of the can and put them in a vacuum sealed bag and then freeze them. Will they still look and taste the same when they are deforsted and cooked?

I need to buy them soon before the store runs out of them!!

For $2.00 it's worth trying that at least. I doubt they'll go bad in the freezer but they just might not taste very good.

I have heard people who say that they have successfully frozen canned biscuits. They just toss the can in, and then when they get ready to eat, they put it in the fridge to thaw. I've also heard that you cannot do it with the layer biscuits because they get funky.

Another thing you could do is bake them and let them cool. Then wrap them really well and freeze them. Then all you would have to do is pull out a couple at a time and reheat in the oven.

Check the expiration date & make sure you have time to try freezing a can & defrosting to make sure you like them. Usually they have a pretty lengthy code on them. Around here I'd be able to use them before they got too old...unless you only have a week.

The expireration date is January 2007 but I really want to stock up if you know what I mean. I think I'm going to open a can and vacuum seal them separately and freeze them. Then tomorrow I'll cook one and see what happens. If it doesn't taste great. I'll just cooked them and vacuum seal them then freeze.
