I need food help!

Hi! I’m newer to the board but have been a lurker! We are having a wishes wedding on April 26th, 2011 WP/ADH. We are having about 100 people...this is just family and bridal party! We go for our planning session in a few weeks and I am trying to decide what we should taste! If it was up to me we would have stake and Mac and cheese! I’m a very picky eater, but I want to make sure we have things our guest will enjoy. We are doing a buffet. I have the Parmesan Chicken to taste.....please help with any other ideas!

We're having our wedding and reception the same places as you--and we were planning on having Mickey Mac & Cheese!!! (hopefully Disney can work their magic for that) but it's something that we all love and want to share with our guests. I say do it too, since you like mac and cheese!

You should try some sort of potato dish, like a mashed potato or a potato bar kind of thing. We had mashed potatoes with prociutto, cheese, and sour cream mixed in. Very Yummy!

On the menus they have several steak options plus sauces, maybe pick one steak you know you like (a sirloin or filet mignon) and several sauces to taste?

We also had a pasta action station with an alfredo sauce and an a la vodka sauce. At our tasting they just brought out the already made dishes.

The pasta station is great idea! Thank you, im sure my groom will love that idea since his family is Italian! And as for the Mickey mac an cheese....im going for it! After all, it is our wedding anyway!

I wonder if you can ask them for mickey pasta with a more "grown-up" cheese sauce, like the one they do at Les Chefs de France? Still very yummy, but a little more like wedding special food.

We actually did serve steak and mac-n-cheese at our wedding, it was based on the dish served at Jiko and our guests loved it. We had it as a plated meal, so I'm not sure if that would translate well for a buffet, but I would look over the menu's and try anything that sounds interesting. They pretty much made our entire menu for us and it was really great to experience the whole meal, even though it was a lot of food.

It was a hit at our wedding. The smells going around when they were preparing it on the buffet was AMAZING!! Even the DJ was commenting on how good it smelled.
