We just returned on Feb 13th, from a 8 night stay at Bonnet Creek. We have all been so depressed since we have came home!!! So much snow, cold, YUCK!! DH thinks we should just pack up and move to Florida, from our little Northern Ontario town. I asked him, "where would we go on vacation then?"
Anyone going to Fl in the next little while, have a great time!!!! For ones just coming back, I will join you in the winter woes!

In 4 more days, I will be able to say we are going "next" month. Can hardly wait for April.

DH is nearly 50 year old and has been laid-off since June [after 28 years with the company]. I told him we should retire and move to Venice Beach in California. I'll read Tarot Cards on the beach and he can sell flowers at the corner gas.

We'll live in a motor home in a parking lot on the beach.

We love the idea until we remember we have two kids ages 9 and 15.

Oh well....when they are grown we'll be the old couple in the Venice Beach parking lot motor home.

If I could I would get in the car today and drive until I saw the "welcome to the sunshine state" sign. (I wonder if the kids would even miss me!!!!)

I actually feel a little better today about weather! At least the sun is out and it isn't snowing! The girls had 2 snow days on Thur and Fri and then where sent home early from work due to weather both Sat and Sun (McDonalds!)...I sooo need my space from them!! 3 teenage girls and a menopausal mom and snow and road closures NOT a pretty site.....

Today I just finalized everything for my trip...added the dining package and asked for room preference...ADR's are all set and I am sooo ready....take me away

I have been REALLY cranky for two days. Usually this is my "good" week, if you know what I mean, but I've been really short with people.

To ditch the ***** I need the beach!

Me too! But I will be there in 16 days! We did not go down during the last 2 spring breaks (we went with our trailer one summer) and I was amazed at how down I felt. Especially when driving around town and seeing others with their "big mac boxes" (what we call those hard travel carrier thingys for your roof) on their cars. But luckily....not me this year! Woohoo!

We have a cottage in Southhampton which is not to far from you and I cant wait for Spring to get here. We love that area in the summertime and always take a drive to Tobermory every year. It would be nice to move to the south but you would miss the island in the summer

Don't get me wrong, I love my job but I get cranky just before Spring Break every year. I work in an elementary school office and the kids are great but this one kid, forgets his lunch at least twice a week. I actually growled (to myself, not to him). Of course he's going to forget his lunch if mommy is going to bring him a Happy Meal. We all drop off things occasionally but this poor women is in to drop off homework, musical instruments, lunch, money & house keys at least once a day. Can you imagine what his poor wife is in for when he grows up?

OK, there's my rant. See - I'm cranky. I need a vacation. 11 more days!

Not to rub it in but I'm leaving for Clearwater in 3 days I can not wait. I work at a daycare in Ontario and I am ssoo sick of the cold weather plus having the children stay inside because of the windchill!

LOL Do you work at my DS' school?!?!?! Mine's not *that* bad but he is an organizational airhead, I swear! BUt I don't bring him happy meals, and he knows not to call me unless it is absolutely ESSENTIAL that he have whatever it is he is wanting. LOL He has definitely gotten better this year though.

You better take a really good look at the secretary the next time - it might be me! No, not likely but don't worry, an occasionally lunch or assignment is normal.

It sure doesn't help that he students keep leaving on vacation without me! Is it time to hit the road yet?
