I have been thinking of starting to list some things on Ebay for a while and I think I am ready to start. I sew and I think that I would like to make some Disney themed boutique type clothing for girls. I have thought up a few ideas, but I was wondering if anybody had any ideas they wanted to share. Is there anything that you've always wished you had for your little girl to wear in Disney?

We decided to take Disney up on their offer of free food, so I guess I had better start making some $$$$ to pay off my trip!

I have no ideas for little girls, but when my daughter was younger, I bought many outfits on eBay for her American Girl doll. If you're able to make anything tiny like this, I think they go for quite a bit considering how much material is involved. I'm sure it's not easy to make those little things and while you may have less in materials, I don't think it's less time consuming, but it's a suggestion. You could also make hair accessories for the doll or the child to match too.

There are many, many sellers and stores on eBay that specialize in boutique children's clothing.

You should definitely check out the competition, see what their items are selling for, etc.

Also be aware that there will be certain limitations on how you advertise, especially if you are comparing your items to other brands.

There is also a whole list of rules for custom-made clothing.

First do a little homework on eBay to see if your item will sell. Do a completed items search and find out what is the percentage of items sold and how much they sell for.

Then figure if it's worth your time and talent to make a profit. Sometimes what we like and would buy does not sell on eBay. It's a gamble sometime but it can be very well worth it.

I've been a seller on eBay for 3 years. It's my main source of income! It is hands down the best way to make money from home if you're willing to work it!

Good luck!

This is exactly why I posted! I hadn't even thought about making matching girl/ag doll clothes. I might have to think about that. I can't beleive I didn't already think of that since I have spent the entire day babysitting "Lucy" our bitty baby for my 4 year old!

Thanks!

I haven't looked in a while, but this is why I have thought about it. My dh didn't beleive me when I told him what things sold for. When I showed him he bought me 2 new sewing machines! Of course that was 4 years ago and I still haven't done much! I need to get on and look at what the restrictions are. I know that I can't put Disney in my description.

Do you sell things you buy or things you make? I will have 3 days a week to myself next year when my youngest goes to preschool so I will probably get more serious about it then. I have sold lots of stuff and always had really good luck. I don't waste my time on things that I am not sure will sell though. I have sold tons of their Gymboree clothes the year after they wear them for more than I paid for them on sale! Thanks for the luck!

Just another thought. I don't have a daughter but I've seen many catalogs that will have matching mother & daughter items like vests, dresses and jumpers.

And the AG doll clothes could prove to be a great thing too. There's a billboard about 15 minutes away from here advertising a person that makes AG clothes so you might think about local advertising if you start making the AG clothes. :confused3 That is if you'd want people coming to your house to purchase them. Or even make them for craft shows not just Ebay.
