I need ASAP advice re: Changing Resorts!!!

I would personally switch to Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge. Given so many DVC owners have points to burn after the closure this year, I would want to get in now before they fill up. Then if non-DVC WL opens up, you can always switch back later.

Also, keep in mind that if you take the Kidani Village studio. It is a queen bed and a sleeper sofa. Some families do not like not having 2 regular beds.

I forgot about this aspect too! So for those of you that have stayed in Villas, do you like the set up? I had a 2 queen room booked. Its just me, my husband & our 7-year old. Will I like the setup of the villa with a pullout couch instead of another bed? It seems more spacious?

If youre staying at Copper Creek, it feels like youre at the main Wilderness Building? Does it have a separate lobby? Im confused about the way Wilderness Lodge is set up right now. Will Wilderness Lodges restaurants be open?

Our kids enjoyed the pullout couch when they were that age and when closed it provides a good amount of space for the 3 of you.

A lot of the DVC villas now have pull-down beds that come out of the wall and over the sofa, rather than a pullout sofa.

You are in the main building, CCV is just the south side building and wing of the original WL building remodeled / converted to DVC. The BRV are an external building just south of the original WL building.

Dining
That only leaves Artists Point (Character Dining) and the Territory lounge not already open.

If you really are worried, change to CCV, that way you are guaranteed to have a room in the main building at WL.

We wont be renting a car, we were going to rely on Disneys transportation & uber or lyft. The ferry from WL to MK was a favorite aspect for us. How does it compare getting around from AKL Kidani vs WL? We have 4 park magic tickets so just 1 park per day, no hopping.

If you are in Copper Creek you are in the main building. You are just on the Right half rather than the left half. We stayed at CC in Nov 19 and were on the ground floor about 50 steps from the big main gift shop and lobby. Boulder Ridge is the one that's in the separate building away from the main lodge.

Do we know if Disney Vacation reps are sales people? I ask bc ive worked in sales myself. The rep gave me this like “warning if you dont do it now youre not gonna get it” feeling... was it bc she wanted to secure a sale by booking my change? Maybe it counts in some way for them? I felt this sense of urgency lol! So Ive never stayed at any Disney Resort, but we really want to for this trip. We’ve vacationed in some different places & love the experience of luxury hotels & great rooms. Disney rooms seem like not “luxury” levels but definitely luxury prices! We want the experience anyway! I originally DID want a Savannah view room at AKL, but felt it was too much money. We loved what we were seeing about WL & noticed that some rooms there have partial fireworks views, which we love, and it was a good amount less per night. So for her to be offering me a Savannah view for same price seemed awesome!! I just keep holding out hope for WL to reopen. I really wanted to be connected by boat to one of the parks too. What other resorts would you guys recommend if maybe I ask for a comparable type of experience. A resort that connects by boat to one of the parks & has views of fireworks? I would love to be looking at the Castle preferably, which at WL, I at least had a chance to!
Disney CMs taking your call about the WL are NOT DVC sales people. They don't get a commission to move you from WL to a DVC resort. My guess is that she just wanted to help you out and to get you settled now.

IMO, the "partial fireworks" view is not all that. I would much rather have animals outside my room. The boat from WL is nice, but I always through it was a big hike to the boat from my studio at Boulder Ridge. Copper Creek will be closer. But, for me it's not a deal breaker.

If you want a fireworks view you'll have to book a lake/resort view at one of the monorail resorts. You can also get a fireworks view from the Epcot resorts. Boardwalk views from The Boardwalk have fireworks views as do some of the rooms on the Epcot or Studios sides of the the Yacht and Beach Clubs. I have had a fireworks view at Boardwalk, Beach Club and the Polynesian. I will gently tell you that you it is very unlikely that you will be offered those resorts with those views in exchange for your Nature View (formerly known as "Woods View").

Here's what I would suggest: I would do a bit of research on AKV Kidani and CCR. Head over to the DVC owners threads and you'll see photos and get the lowdown on both resorts. I think you so have plenty of time to make a decision, but be aware that the longer you wait some of the resorts offered may in fact sell out. You may not have a choice if you wait too long.

I personally think that a queen bed and fold out couch creates more space. You have a couch during the day and a reasonably comfortable bed at night. I have had 2 teen girls on the foldout and it was just fine.

I figured that lol! Polynesian was one I was VERY interested in but eliminated pretty much immediately bc of the pricing. Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on Polynesian in comparison to WL or AKL? Worth the extra cost? What if I was able to get a room there but it was a standard room?

Not really much difference other then each resort's location near one park.

The AKL Kidani Village is bus only for all parks or 5 minute walk to Jamba House (when it opens).

The WL, CCV, and BRV all have access to the resort boats or bus. The Ferry is only from the TTC to the MK. The boats available at the WL are either a small resort launch with low sides that you step down into or the larger enclosed boats that allow scooters, wheel chairs, and strollers to roll on via a ramp.

The normal schedule at the WL for the boats it that they alternate the boats on the line to the MK. However we don't know yet how / if the boats will operate when the MK reopens on July 11. They are currently not running since the MK is closed.

Wait, why isn't WL lodge available for 2021?
At this point we don't know a specific reason why but my guess is that it is only there are only ~370 hotel rooms, limiting occupancy rates, and the fact that it closed in the middle of a room remodel that has not restarted.

Also POFQ and AKL Jambo House are closed for 2021 at this time.

I adore the Polynesian, but IMO it is not worth the premium price. Especially for a standard view.
