I really, really, really want a Canon EOS 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM. It was on my Christmas list, but Santa forgot to put it in my stocking. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to Amazon.com, today, and looked at it.

Amazon has it for $300 off, at $1,999. It qualifies for the Canon $300 mail-in rebate, too. (Until tomorrow.)

I know the holiday bills are all going to be coming soon. I need to be a good boy and stop thinking about this. But, OMG, $600 off? When's that going to happen again?

Someone, please, talk me off the ledge! It's so uncomfortable sleeping on that living room couch.

"It was on sale" has been used to justify many of my purchases. So I'm absolutely no help here.

In all seriousness... if you can justify your use and the cost, then its a good move for you on sale or not. If you can't, then it's probably not.

Since my 28-70 f2.8 is my go to lens, I am absolutely no help. I wouldn't know what to do without it! I got mine on sale also.

Unfortunately I can't help you either. I rented a 24-70 and loved it. Not a Canon, but the versatility of that range was great. How about you put it on your Disney Visa so you can earn the points?

Rumor of two models: 24-70 f/2.8 STM IS (cheaper) and 24-70 f/2.8 IS (more expensive).

That really is a big price tag to swallow. I bet if they are upgrading to a newer model there will be deals on it again.
