I need an easy dinner recipe for ground beef!

Here is mine.

Mexican over Rice...

Start your rice...
Then, in a skillet
Brown some good Ground Round (like burger patties, then chop into chucks)
diced (or small strips) onion and green pepper
Garlic
Chili powder
(I sometimes add just a bit of extra cilantro and cumin)
then when it is almost cooked done,
add diced tomato (not a lot..)
Then add maybe one cup of cold water with a tablespoon of corn starch to thicken
Once it is thickened it is ready!

Rinse the rice just a little so it is not too sticky... Drain really well

Then put the rice on the plates
Topped with the Mexican beef
then a handfull shredded mild cheddar (Sargento)

Yummy!!!!

ground beef
beef rice-a-roni
diced tomatoes
green bell peppers
chili powder to taste

Brown the ground beef, then add the rice-a-roni to brown the vermicelli. Add 1 cup less water than the box calls for, the diced tomatoes, the rice-a-roni seasoning mix and the chili powder. Cover and cook for 5 minutes less than the box calls for, so the rice is still pretty moist. Meanwhile, hollow out 4 bell peppers. Stuff the rice/beef mixture into the peppers and stick em under the broiler for a few minutes. Top with a little shredded cheddar and serve.

Here's one that my family loves. Ds always asks me to make it when he comes home from college!

1 1/2 - 2 lbs ground beef
1 sliced or 4-5 tbsps. minced onion
pepper to taste
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. parsley
2 tsp. minced garlic
3 cans stewed tomatoes
1 tsp. sugar
elbow or rotini macaroni (1 lb.)

Fry ground beef and spices. When meat is brown add stewed tomatoes and sugar. Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 45 minutes on low. In the meantime boil water and add macaroni. Drain macaroni and mix together with meat mixture in a big bowl.

Brown the Ground Beef.
Put in casserole dish.
Completely cover with slices of pepper cheese.
Dump cream of mushroom soup in mixing bowl and about half a can of water, mix up and cover the pepper cheese.
Put tater tots or the like on top of the soup.
Cook in oven at 350 until the tots or whatever you used are done.

My mom makes a variation on the same thing by adding some frozen veggies to the beef before putting in the oven.

There has been a few like this already, we call it beefy mushroom

Brown beef, drain
add a can of cream of mushroom soup and some then milk (as much as the can) mix. Add a dash of worhschiter sause and dried onions.

Serve with pasta (we like Penne)...

I do something similar...

brown the ground beef
add a can of cream of mushroom soup
serve on a bed of pasta or rice

I never knew the real name for it(if there is one) but I made it in college a couple of times and my friends said "that is some good grub!" So, ever since then, we call it "grub"! Works for me!!!

Grub is as good of name as I have ever heard. ;) There is a lot of variations out there, but when it comes down to it, cream of mushroom soup and beef is good eats! :teeth: Who would of thunk? :teeth:

As a side note, I actually did a little dance in the isle at whole foods when I found dairy free cream of mushroom soup. Since DD is allergic to milk it really cuts down on what we can eat. Having cream of mushroom soup opened up 5 or 6 recipes for us! :Pinkbounc

Oh I forget to say I also add some chopped garlic. Never can have enough of that.

brown beef
drain
make mac and cheese
add some extra cheese
add beef
add some sour cream more or less to taste (more will make more sauce)
can also add in cooked veggies of any kind and esp chopped garlic and onions

1 lb ground beef
2 pkgs ramen noodles
1 pkg asian style vegetables

Brown the hamburger and add 1 of the seasoning packets from the ramen noodles. Boil 2 cups of water and add the vegetables and ramen noodles. Cook for approximately 5 minutes or until noodles are tender. Drain the noodles and veggies and add the remaining seasoning packet. Mix the noodles/vegetables with the cooked hamburger and you have an easy chow mein.

I'm quite the queen of the "Holy crap I've got 30 minutes and a pound of ground beef" type creations! I've been trying to teach them to DH, what with #4 on the way (and who's fault is THAT, hmmm?) Anyway, I do much of what has already been mentioned. I would add that it's nice to have some good spices available, so you can vary the taste, i.e., "Chinese" tonight, "Mexican" tomorrow, etc. I also try to have a can of bamboo shoots or something to add--again, gives more of an "authentic" flair without adding much time or cost.

To the GB, mac and cheese, stir in some salsa next time.

I also tend to be liberal with the garlic and onions. Don't be afraid to throw in whatever you have! Mushrooms are popular in our house, too. If I'm making a spaghetii sauce, olives or artichokes (again, I keep stuff around) also work.

Nobody mentioned meatloaf--popular in our house, if you have time earlier in the day.

In our house, my creations are called "Chop Suey" Not so much for a Chinese flavor, it really stands for "Shut Up and Eat It!"
