We are trying to figure out what would be the best trip for our 10 year anniversary. It will be me, dh, dd(4) and dd(7). We would really like to do the 7 night cruise. What would be better? A 7 nt. cruise or a 4 nt. land/ 4 nt. Sea? I guess I am just wanting to know if the 7 nt. cruise only would be better than having a short cruise and a short land stay? ::MickeyMo

That is a tough one..Depends on your preference..We love the parks, but since we started cruising, there is no contest. The thing about the 4 day/3day is the unpacking, and starting over. We have never done it, but the thought alone is enough for me.

I would rather do a few days in the park, and then cruise. We LOVE the 7 night cruise, and our children were the same ages as yours the first time, and I have absolutely nothing bad to say....

Happy Anniversary, We are also celebrating 10 Years in June... :cheer2:

IMHO there is no comparison. We've taken the 4 and 7 night cruises and the 7 night cruise is much better...more ralaxing, more to do, jut a lot more fun. 3 nights at WDW and 4 nights on the cruise doesn't give you much of either.

If you can swing it, take the 7 night cruise and then spend a couple of nights at WDW before heading home.

This is really a personal decision. If you can only do 7 days, I'd do the cruise. Of course, it's only fair to tell you that the cruise is our family's favorite vacation. If you can add a day or two before the cruise, you can always spend a short time at WDW.

Personally, we like to fly down on Friday night (at the latest) for the Saturday cruise. If you can do Wed. or Thurs, you'd have some park time.....I wouldn't hesitate to take a kid out of school at the ages you are dealing with.

When we booked our first cruise...we were debating between a 3-4 night or a longer 7 night....and went with the 7 night in the end. I'm sooooo glad we did...even that seemed to short. Would LOVE to do the 10 night...or even longer... We have never been to WDW and had planned on going there the week before the cruise..but because of hurricane interferance we had to cancle the WDW portion of the trip. :guilty: We decided to plan a week doing both because we didn't fell 3 or 4 nights at WDW would be worth it...theres just way to much to do and see (for a first timer..like us). But I'm SOOOO glad we went with the 7 night cruise in the end...it was well worth it. I can't really answere your question...just tell you how much we enjoyed what we picked. .

for shear value, you cant beat the 7-day...also, it is far more relaxing than the parks...also, depending on the time of year WDW parks can be brutally hot, crowded, and frustrating.....

IMO do the 7-day.....you will have no regrets...

I agree with everyone here.

Though we've never done the land/cruise package, we have friends who have, (their kids were same age as yours) and they said if they'd had it to do over again, they would've done the 7-day. They didn't like losing a day packing dirty clothes, tranferring to the ship, unpacking, only to have the cruise end four days
later.

It's always a 7-day for us! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

It depends on whether you've been to WDW before. Since we've always had to fly across the country to get to DCL (not this year!), we feel if we're going to be that close, we should spend a few days at WDW. Because our time is usually limited to 7 or 8 days, we've always done the Land/Sea on our previous trips. True, the days go by quickly, but it's nice to see the parks and visit the attractions that we don't have out here, and still have a few days to enjoy the ship. As for packing, I've always packed WDW clothes in separate suitcases from the DCL clothes, so I don't have to do much repacking...we just put the clothes that we wore to WDW into large trash bags and back into the "WDW" suitcases each night. Then, when we get on the ship, we stick them under the bed and never have to deal with them while we're on the cruise.

Thanks for all the great replies! I agree, as much as we love the parks, I think the 7 nt. cruise would be an awesome trip! Now I just need to decide between Eastern or Western!
