...from the Universal experts. I have now moved on to planning the Universal portion of our trip and find myself completely overwhelmed. I have been once, only to US, back in 2002. We really only spent part of a day there and I don't remember much about it. I will be going in late July with my ds (7), My Mom, My uncles, their three children, My aunt and her four children. Youngest child will be 4. Oldest 13. Also, it probably helps to know that, due to circumstances out of my control, we only get one day total for BOTH parks. WWOHP is a MUST. I know the kids will love anything with the typical characters and superheroes.

Basically I'm looking for any tips/advice for USF newbies. Would love to hear all your advice and any info that you feel is important to know about the parks and planning the day.

It's going to be very tough doing both parks in a single day this summer. If you're mainly concerned about WWoHP, I would stick with IOA and seeing as much of the park as you can. The kids will have plenty of characters and superheroes to see all over the park. The crowds are going to be very heavy this summer and unless you skip most of each park, I doubt seriously you will get your money's worth.

I would check out the website at www.universalorlando.com and see the things you really want to see and then make your plans accordingly.

Thanks. I've known pretty much from the get-go that it would be a waste to try to cram two parks into one day but there are some hard headed adults in my group.

I really don't plan to push my son to breaking point just to see all this stuff. More likely I'll end up passing on some of the hopping and enjoying things with him as we come to them. (After WWOHP)

Would you say it's possible to do both parks if you are staying on site?

I have heard of FOTL and EP are they the same thing? What do you get for staying on site?

If you stay onsite, both parks CAN be done in 1 day. But...it'll be an all day, long day thing.

FOTL is different from EP. FOTL is your onsite room key giving you unlimited Express for the length of your stay.

EP that you purchase is good for Express one time each attraction.

That is the benefit of staying onsite. If you are a family of 4 or so, and the EPs are appx $50 (in summer they are more expensive), for that $200 you just spent to get each family member Express one time each attraction, you coulda had a room onsite and gotten 2 days of unlimited Express.
