Not in a park but very close to one (on the monorail would be perfect)
Not a buffet
Not super $$ (nothing that would be 2TS)

My husband is going to a conference and we are only going to have one park day :( We are taking the kids to MK but my parents are driving up from S. Florida to meet us for dinner. We want to be able to leave the park, meet them for dinner and then go back for fireworks somewhere.

Any ideas? Thanks!!!

Any particular type of food? I'm thinking maybe Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. It's not on the monorail, but very close to MK. From MK, you just hop on a boat that takes you directly to Wilderness Lodge. Or maybe Ohana's at the Poly? It is on the monorail line. :confused3

Kona Cafe, The Wave or Grand Floridian Cafe if you want to eat on the MK monorail loop.

Also if you time your meal right, you can watch the fireworks from Ohana's during your meal, or after your meal, you can go down to the beach at the Poly and watch the fireworks from there. They even pipe in the music!:thumbsup2

Ideas would be

Kona @ Poly

The Wave @ CR

Grand Floridian Cafe @ GF

or WCC @ Wilderness Lodge

Ohana is nice but could be a long meal and a long wait if you want to get back to the parks.

Your options on the Monorail would be:

The Wave at CR
Ohana or Kona at Poly
Grand floridian Cafe at GF

You can walk to CR from the MK and not have to worry about transportation delays at all, Ohana can be a long meal and they are notorious for running late on ADR's, I've not been to the Cafe at GF but have heard good things.

Good luck with your decision, I would look at menus online at www.allears.net and pick one based on your family's preferences and prices. :thumbsup2

What park? I'm thinking Kona Cafe at the Poly or The Wave at the Contemporary. Both are reasonably priced and have good food. I actually haven't been to Kona, but I have eaten at The Wave and it was great!

If you'll be at Epcot and not MK, then I'd suggest Kouzzina, on the Boardwalk.

If near EPCOT or DHS, then go to Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club! Great food and atmosphere, its a hidden gem. =)

Ohana isn't a buffet, but it's family styled so if you want to order something from a menu then don't go here. But Ohana is one of my favorite restaurants, the food was amazing!

Our favorites are Ohana and Kona at Polynesian and The Wave at Contemporary. We tried the wave for the first time this past December and it was really good!

Tell me about the Wave! I've never even heard of this one.

O'Hanna has always been our first pick but the last time we went it was awful :( the service, the food,,, we were so disappointed!

What kind of food does The Wave have?

I've eaten at The Wave the past 2 Decembers, and both times it was fantastic! It's kind of hidden away down on the first floor of the CR, and even for the week before Christmas when we were there, it wasn't all that busy. Easy place to get a walk up table.

Their food and atmosphere are a sustainable, organic feeling. I've had a flat iron steak and a pork loin dish, and both were AMAZING. I also love that they have a variety of hot teas here, seems everywhere else on property serves Twinings [which is good] but the teas here are yummy and organic!

It's very close to MK, if you walk, you're already on the 1st floor when you enter. If you take the monorail, you'll have to go down there from the 4th floor where you exit the monorail. The walk takes maybe 10-15 minutes, depending on how fast you walk.

The Wave sounds nice, but I was thinking Kona. Enjoy!
