It seems like all of a sudden I have a huge number of pop-ups whenever I am on the computer...we have a cable connection.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good pop-up blocker...is there anything I need to know before installing one? will it change anything else in how my computer runs?

thanks so much

denise

I have used Noads for a couple of years. It is free. You can get it at www.southbaypc.com . There's nothing to installation other than downloading it and double clicking on it.

Just go to the Google website and you can get a free popup blocker. I have been using it for months now and have had over 800 popups blocked. It's great!

Of course, you could also be a victim of spyware. That is one of the hallmarks of some the more devious software out there.

You should make sure you download and run at least weekly (daily?) these two products:

Adaware

and

Spybot

Spybot's site is down right now, but you can download it here on PcWorld also.
