I need a new book to read, what do you suggest?

how about Vince Flynn. He has a new book out- still in hard cover. they are his main character is a now ex- last resort, get the job done.
have you read the JD Robb books- they are written by nora roberts- she also has a new one out in hard cover.
waiting for both to come out in paper back.

I love Tom Clancy! I also read them in the "correct" order- not the way they were published. and the movies that were made out of the books- Don't even get me started

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenager.

also anything by Barbara Kingsolver or Sandra Dallas.

I like the same authors you do! Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz is a really good one I read recently.

The Lottery by David Baldacci. Or anything else by him in fact.

well first and formost anything michalael chriton 2 of my faves are jurassic park and the andromda strain
But most importantly :wizard: The Harry Potter series :wizard: now you may say they are below your reading level but so many good things about them they are written on so many levels of story so you can get into it as much as you wish. (trust me i have read them about 5 times each.)

Go to Books A Million and snag up all the Judith McNaught you can buy. Trust me...she is the most awesome writer I have ever read. She makes me cry in every book. Get "Whitney My Love" as your first book...it is....just breathtaking.....

Oh by the way....reading is my passion..lol. :)

I like non fiction and I just picked up Howie Carr's book; The Brothers Bulger. Its about organized crime and corruption including the FBI, Boston cops, etc that extended to the highest levels of government in Boston. It is well written so I don't think you need to be within Boston or New England to enjoy it.

I have *resisted* Jodi Picoult's books for years. Don't ask me why. I just tend to stay away from books that are being read by the masses (I'm weird). Out of desperation because of NOTHING to read, I picked up her book "My Sister's Keeper" and another author's book "Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons". Both of them were very good. However, Jodi Picoult's book "My Sister's Keeper" was almost phenomenal. I just finished it last night and I was crying. I never do that.

Yesterday I just finished reading Nora Roberts' Blue Smoke...good easy read. Now I am going to start Danielle Steele's Toxic Bachelor.

I'm currently reading Dashiell Hammett's "The Thin Man". It's a fantastic read, Nick and Nora Charles crack me up.

And yep, this is the book the 1930's movie was based on. :)

I read "My Sister's Keeper" and cried as well. It was an excellent book.

I loved Bitten by Kelly Armstrong and The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier is another good one (remember the movie with Nicole Kidman?). I also like to read young adult fiction as my daughter is 8 and will be reading more adult books soon. I want to have suggestions for her when she's ready. So far I've read Holes, all of the Harry Potter books, Dragon Rider by Cornellia Funke (pronounced Foonka), all of the Lemony Snicket books among a few others. Lemony Snicket is entertaining but I don't recommend him for everyone. If you haven't read the Harry Potter series I HIGHLY recommend it. It's one of my favorites.

I likew Sue Grafton the alaphabet series
David Balacci.. they are like John Grisham which I also like
Brad Meltzer is also good
And thanks for the suggestions

The Kite Runner is an excellent book...a real page turner!

I second this!! If you like Nora Roberts regular writing, this is like Nora Roberts kicked up a notch. They are murder-mysteries with some serious romance tossed in. :thumbsup2

Anything you can find by Anne Rivers Siddons.

Christine, she has JUST become popular. I've been reading her books for years and years, back when no one heard of her. Try Salem Falls, that one will tie you up in knots. I've always loved her.

Also, try any of Mary Kay Andrews. Sassy, funny with a bit of mystery. Love her, she keeps me laughing.
