I am almost out of book selections so I am in the market for something new. Some of the authors I like are Nora Roberts, Danielle Steele, Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson, Janet Evanovich, Mary Higgins Clark, Sandra Brown and Debbie Macomber. I am always looking for somethig new that will grab my interest. I really don't like horror or sci-fi, but most everything else is a go. Any suggestions on something good that you have read recently?

You might enjoy Jodi Picoult's books.
Perfect Match was my favorite so far but I've really enjoyed them all ::yes::

i love wicked the life and times of the wicked witch of the west. now thats a good book. i can relate to elphaba soo much.

I recently found this trilogy of books and have enjoyed them. I also like many of the authors that you like. The author is Martha Grimes and the first book is Paradise Hotel, the second is Cold Flat Junction and the third is called Belle Ruin. They are a little different than my normal but I have enjoyed them. The narrator is a 12 year old girl but it is not a kid story. I actually read the third one first because I did not realize that it was a series and then had to go find the first and second..

I'm reading Beach House by James Patterson right now and it's good. Loved Honeymoon by Patterson!

I just finished State of Fear by Michael Crichton. I really enjoyed it!

I'm reading Tyrannasaur Canyon by Douglas Preston and Stonehenge by Bernard Cornwell - both extremely engrossing books but a little outside of what you stated was your normal book.

Have you read any of Sara Donati's books? Into the Wilderness is the first and it's got history, romance, and adventure in it and is very easy reading. How about any of the Outlander series? Jennifer Weiner is a very good author as well - quick reads, good plot, great characters and very humorous.

I like all those same authors. I don't know your position on religion, but I LOVE Karen Kingsbury. She is a Christian author but she write about real life situations (marriage, death, divorce, AIDS, infidelity etc) without prejudice. Usually someone (a main character) is a believer but it's not preachy at all. Maybe talk of prayer here and there in thebook. Reading them gives me a sense of peace and she is a great author. She wrote One Tuesday Morning and the squel to that as well (can't remember the name)....cried like a baby but it was great!!!

How about some Ridley Pearson books. They are usually good reads. I am re-reading Dan Brown's Angles and Demons (finished that actually) and The DaVinci Code. I though DS13 might like them and I wanted to see if they were ok for him. Any of Dan Brown's books are well written and great reads.

Have you read any of Jean Auel's books, Clan of the Cave Bear is the first one. I love these books. I had a sociology lesson plans for high school jr's and sr's based on these books.

I am also a fan of Tom Clancy. He has published is books out of order, not chronological, but I like to read them in chronological order.

Anything by Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child - start with Relic

I don't think he hasn't written anything new since his wife died - but Dick Frances - horses or horseracing

Another old favorite is Lawrence Sanders - though again I haven't seen anything new in a long time

Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons....it is one of my favorite books ever! Goes thru the lives of 5 neighbors/friends thru the years. Great book!

I'm a big fan of the Dirk Pitt novels by Clive Cussler. Mostly action and adventure, some have a little romance, nothing graphic. Last years movie "Sahara" was based on a Pitt book, the movie was good but the book was much better.

Try Fannie Flagg. I just read that her book, A Redbird Christmas, is being made into a movie.

Also, I love Memoirs of a Geisha.

If you like horror with a little sexy mystery on the side, try Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, or if you like Ferie Smut ( i won't even say it has a true story line other than housewife porn) read her Merry Gentry series.

Since your like Debbie Macomber....have you read the angel books. I think there are 3-4 of them. They are really funny. They are about 3 angels named Shirley, Goodness and Mercy. Corny, I know, but really funny.

Have you read Patricia Cornwell books. You need to read them in order. They are really interesting. I find it hard to wait for the paperback to come out. Luckily, my mom will buy the hardcover. We pass books around between about 20 people and everyone always wants to be the first to get her books.

Happy reading!

Crankyshank, I knew I liked you when the presidential debates were raging, but I love you even more since you just recomended some of my favorite authors!!

I would add Jodi Picoult to the list as weel, I've read 3 of her books- My Sister's Keeper, Vanishing acts, and her latest Tenth Circle- and really liked them all. Tenth Circle was so scary though, it made me very glad I don't have a teenager....

Anything by Jonathan or Faye Kellerman!!!

I also took notes on the rest of the suggestions....it's time to set up the next years book selection for my book club!!

Third vote for Jodi Picoult

"Vanishing Acts" or

"My Sister's Keeper" are her very best books

ENJOY!
