I need a new artificial Christmas Tree

I know Micheals (craft store) carries them. Not sure if they are out yet. They usually have coupons for 40% off or have specials on them.

I am also getting a new one this year. I want to get a 4ft. one with the lights already on it. I did see that K-Mart has put out their Christmas stuff. No more big trees for me! :teeth:

Loews, has some great ones. got my pre-lite there last year
Me too...same place...and let me be the first to say "Merry Christmas"!!! ::MickeyMo

Great! Thanks to this thread, I'm walking around the apartment singing (in my head)..."athough it's been said, many times, many ways...Merry Christmas, to you..."! It'll be about a week before it can manage to get that little tune out of my brain!!

I got up this morning with the thought in my head to ask this very same question! We've always had a real tree but this year we want to go with an artificial one. I'd like to get one with the lights already on the tree.

I'm going out today to see what I can find. We don't have any Loews near us. :sad1:

DH last year went on a Christmas tree quest last year...went to 10 places (I was like have at it Baby) anyway he found the most beautiful one at Sears.

If you can wait until after christmas, there are tons on sale for half price or less. We have a chain up here (not sure if you do) called "treasure island" where they have TONS of christmas trees. Last year we got a $400 christmas tree (pre-lit with 1200 lights) for $150 the day after christmas. Woohoo! Can't wait to use it this year.

Oddly enough, we found a gorgeous one at Target last year, for a great price. We needed a tall, fairly skinny tree, and I wanted one that was pre-lit. Ended up finding a 9' skinny pre-lit tree for about $200 or so (I think--it couldn't have been much more, because I don't remember DH pitching a huge fit over the price. :rotfl: ).

I've been thinking about this too! I'll have to check Target. This year I want a very tall, thin tree that is pre-lit. I usually alternate between having a real tree and a fake but the real ones are so messy. I had a fake 9ft fat tree, but the branches got all bendy and the tips began to fall off after having it 2 years. I think it had to do with how fat it was and how you had to squeeze all the branches together to store it. Then try and fluff it up when you took it out the next season. That's hard on your hands too.The pine cones that were attached to the branches began to crumble away the first year. I bought that one at Michael's and it was about $250, so I guess I expected it to last longer.

I think I'll stick with a real wreath for the door and get a skinny fake tree for inside. I remember a neighbor telling me they bought their 7 ft pre-lit tree from QVC, and it came in three parts: a topper, a middle section and a bottom section. No branches to attach into those holes on the pole. The branches just fanned out when you turned it upside down. I am going to check out QVC's site.

I was just in Michael's today and I saw boxes of artificial trees. It looked like they were just getting the area ready.

Forget what they all said, you HAVE to go to Costco. They had fantastic trees I was just there and they had sizes 7.6, 9, and 12 feet!! Pre lit. OH and by the way they had spectacular Christmas decorations too. I love
Costco.

I have had artificial trees for years. I think I am on my fourth one. THey make them more realistic all the time. I have downsized and now have one of the 1/2 trees or corner trees. I got it on sale from JC Penney. It is prelit and gorgeous. I just love it. Takes up less room but still looks great, just doesn't stick out as far.
There are lots of places you can get a great tree.

Have fun shopping! and Merry Christmas.

Cathy

We got ours from Costco last year, you have to make sure they have enough lights when you buy them if you are going for pre-lit. Some of the cheaper places and trees are 6 feet tall and have 500 lights...not many lights for a tree that size, you need at least 1500 on a tree that size! The only drawback with the prelit trees are they are HEAVY..I had to get my brother to come over and help me get one piece on top of the other and then again to help me carry the pieces (3) down the basement.
