I need a good printer, any ideas?

I need to get a new printer, I'm looking for one that has-

Good photo printing quality, not too expensive for the refills and that's not more then 200.00.

Any ideas?

My suggestion would be anything Hewlett Packard. I have had one for a few years and really like it. Before that I had an Epson and didn't care for it at all.

We recently bought the HP photosmart 7550 and have been very pleased with its performance and quality of photo printing. I'm not sure how much it cost tho..

Go for a Hewlett Packard.....I had an Epson and I did nothing but strugle with it for good quality anything!

If you do a lot of photo printing with any printer, refills do get costly, that is where the money is for the printer companies, not the hardware.

I'm not up on the latest as I've been out of work for a year & a half. (I worked in IT.) On the job, we tended to use HP & I was always pleased with their output & performance, as others have said.

My experience with various Canon bubble jet printers is not as good. On cheaper models, the output was okay for text but not great for pix (clips or photos). There also seems to be a problem with them accepting paper. Some days, they only want one sheet in the feeder & others they want ~10. (Otherwise, the paper won't feed at all.)

Our last printer was a Lexmark Z31. I am very pleased with it. The quality of photos isn't as good if you don't use photo paper & the special black ink it recommends, though.
